So rare and beautiful: Arita Tenmoku Tea Bowl by greatest Living National Treasure Inoue Manji. Most of his work is made of white porcelain, and only very few have the wonderful Tenmoku glaze. Beautiful Chinese antique vase, 18th century (Kangxi Period, 1662-1722). It is sculpted in double gourd shape and painted with various scholar scenes and glazed in white and blue. Continuous scenes depicting figures in a landscape are a common motif in Transitional porcelain, they often referenced popular plays, histories or poems.

An ancient Chinese Tang Dynasty (618-907) tea bowl, dating to around 850-900 AD and excavated in the Luoyang area.

This is a clay figure of "Tenjin", the god of learning and a great and important figure in the history of Japanese culture.

It is obviously from the Mid Edo Period and one of the most impressing pieces of art in our collection with its mysterious and spiritual character.

We offer this Tenjin figure with a wooden stand, which was built by a former owner. As you can notice on the photos, it has some scratches and hairline cracks, which do not diminish its antique effect.

Wan shaped tea bowl made of fine, unrefined clay with a small content of iron oxide. The clay shows few impurities and stones. The inside has been stamped with flower patterns (hanamishima) between circular lines both were filled with a fine, white engobe before a transparent ash glaze haze was applied.
