Twin fish necklace in amethyst and brass signed MAYA MEXICO after a design first introduced by Hubert Harmon (c.1940-50). This necklace will comfortably fit up to a 15 inch neck. The two fish and amethyst drop measure 5 1/2 inches across. Both fish have an amethyst eye and a faceted amethyst stone extending from their tail. A single amethyst cab hangs between the 2 fish. Each brass chain measures 5 1/2 inches.

This spectacular sterling silver and shell cuff was designed circa 1950's by American and Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling. The cuff measures 1 1/2" at the widest point in the center front. It has a 1 3/8" gap opening and a wearable length of up to a 6 3/4" wrist. The deep brown and pale golden shell inlay is held in place by silver rivets. Exquisite condition with no cracks or chips. Signed on the reverse WILLIAM SPRATLING TAXCO MEXICO with the eagle assay mark #30. This rare vintage sterling silver and sodalite necklace and earrings was designed and signed c. 1950's by Taxco, Mexico modernist designer Antonio Pineda (1919-2009). Comprised of 14 sterling silver bezel set links each holding a deep blue stone veined with pink to cream to gold calcite accents. Necklace measures 15 1/2" wearable length and 5/8" wide. Slide in clasp is tight and secure. Screw back earrings are 1 1/2" long and designed with the same open silver platform backing as the necklace. Hallmarks are the ANTONIO CROWN with TAXCO within, 970, STERLING and eagle with number. One earring carries the Antonio crown hallmark. All stones are in beautiful condition with no chips or cracks. This modernist design by William Spratling dates to the 1950's. Weighing 90 grams the necklace is 20 inches long. The opposing "tongues" measure 2 1/2" across X 2". Screw back earrings 1 1/8" x 1". The gold wash is very light especially on the earrings. All in beautiful condition. Hallmarked on clasp and the back of one pendant. Earrings each marked with eagle 30. Spratling called this design "lenguas" or tongues of fire. This design is included in WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE by Penny Morrill on page 246.

This sterling silver & blue Nevada turquoise belt buckle was designed & signed circa 1950's by Native American Hopi designer Preston Monongye (1927-87). Buckle measures 3" X 2" & weighs 74 grams, 2.6 oz. The large Burnham turquoise nugget measures 1 1/2" X 1" and is in perfect condition. Monongye's 1950 hallmark is impressed on the reverse. Buckle swivel and hook work smoothly and securely. The tufa cast silver has a gorgeous vintage patina. The buckle will take up to a 1 1/2" wide strap. The contemporary hand tooled leather strap pictured is included. This strap is 1 3/8" wide & is size 34 but measures 38" long. Further information on Monogye and his hallmarks can be seen on p. 231 in Bille Hougart's LITTLE BOOK OF MARKS ON SOUTHWESTERN SILVER. Preston Monongye designs are included in the collections of the Smithsonian Institute museum, the Heard Museum, and the Denver Art Museum among several others.

Vintage 1950's sterling silver and shattuckite pin or brooch designed and signed by Frank Patania Sr. Pin measures 3 1/4"L X 2 1/2"W. Signed on the back - FP STERLING with Patania's THUNDERBIRD hallmark. An Italian immigrant, Patania migrated to Santa Fe, N.M. and opened his Thunderbird shop in 1927. Patania established a style of handcrafted southwest American jewelry by blending European silversmith technology with Native American design. His grandson Sam Patania confirms that the stones in this pin are a mineral called shattuckite from southern Arizona and that the grade of stones his grandfather used in this pins' construction are very rare. Spratling often used an arrow or an arrowhead in his designs. Here he pairs 925 sterling silver with matte onyx in each arrowhead link for an eye-catching combination. The necklace measures 17" long and 9/16" wide. The earrings are 1" high and inlaid with chrysocolla on the front panels. Together the necklace and earrings weigh a comfortable 57 grams. Both are in beautiful condition with minor age wear to the stones. The back of the necklace is also inlaid with matte onyx.
