Description: In plain and simple form and with unusual length, this paper weight was made of precious Suan-zi wood. Had been used in scholar's practice of calligraphy and Chinese paintings, the paper weight was preserved in very good condition only with some old abrasions and an old chip on the underside at one of the ends. Description: An intriguing ivory carving in old patina was carved with a skeleton figure leaning to a skull. Half-squatting, the skeleton leaned to the skull by his or her right hand when protecting it with the left hand. With fantastic skill, the piece was carved in open work from one solid ivory block. Good ivory tissues and patina were yielded when realistic skeleton anatomy was rendered...

Description: An archaic nephrite jade pendant or Huang was in greenish tint with white patches. By incursions of calcified white dots on the surface, the ancient jade piece was verified as a newly excavated piece. In a decent look and quite good size, this rare piece was carved meticulously on two sides with characteristic grain patterns. From the jade quality, the sleek manual carving lines, and the obvious incursions, we could authenticate the piece was from the dated Han Dynasty for sure...

Description: A celadon Longquan stem-cup was well molded. By a dark green tint, the glaze was well applied all over the surface except the foot ring. Motifs of flowers and branches were finely incised on the inner wall of the bowl and subtly revealed under the glaze. Authenticating firing red was obvious at the unglazed foot ring and the inside of the looped foot trunk. In quite good size and a perfect condition, the stem cup stands well in a decent look...

A charming pebble jade carving of a tiger, cat or Huan was masterly done.
Crouching with her head resting on her front paws, she raised her left leg tickling the cheek when the long tail curling tightly to the side.
The fluent lineation work and excellent carving skill depicted the cat in a vivid way...

Description:

A wood stand was in decent rectangular form.
Decorated on four sides with open-work structure, the wood stand was framed on the surface with rice-white marble slab.
The stand was in firm and sound condition with only minute fret at the feet due to use.

Description: A nephrite Houtien jade carving was very well rendered as two monkeys. By a good-wished metaphor of Being High Ranking Officials Generations after Generations, the monkey mother was holding hands with baby monkey face to face. In a celadon tint, the jade piece was done by traditional craftsmanship. It is a very good example for Chinese jade carving for the characteristics of jade carving skills and jade material. Date: Qing Dynasty, Dimensions: 4.2cm x 3.5cm x 1.6cm.

Description: A boxwood figure was vividly carved as a shepherd boy by mastery craftsmanship. Holding a pipe (which had been lost), the shepherd boy stands step-forwardly in a animated posture. A nice boxwood carving with nice patina was preserved good with only one small defect on his left foot(loss of two toes) and a minor crack at the rim of his straw hat. A newly made stand was included...

Description: An ancient inkstone was from Song dynasty. By a typical sleek shape, the inkstone was carved in a simple and plain form. The obvious carving scars can be easily observed. After enduring thousands of years of burial in a tomb chamber, the surface of the stone piece was oxidized into a grayish patina when rust mottles were yielded too. Made of Duan- a high quality material which was originated from Song and lasted to now, the inkstone is truly a prototype for Chinese ancient inkstones...

A burlwood brush pot was preserved in very good condition.
In strong and sturdy form, the brush pot was hollowed from a burlwood trunk and was preserved with enduring old patina.
There're the greasy amber-like condition happened to the edge of the mouth rim. And the extensive crackles were yielded on the carbonized surface of the mouth rim and on the upper portion of the inner side...

Description: A lavender-tinted Jun bowl was shaped with straight wall. Before applying the random strokes of purple splashes, one on the outer wall and another at the inner side, the ancient potter must had been dipping the bowl in the glaze so swiftly as to leaving the body in the cavetto partially unglazed like the bottom side. By intentional purpose of the potter’s ingenuity or just a simple missed work, the well-molded bowl was therefore full of rustic joy of strong Zen spirits...

It was nicely carved with beautiful scenery when characteristic elements of Chinese literati life like - scrolling cloud, plum trees and scholars were included.
Nice and warm patina was yielded.
