Original oil painting on panel by Paul Matthews (American, born 1933). In excellent condition and in its original gallery frame. Signed "Matthews" l.r. Also inscribed Paul Matthews verso. Still bears a gallery label from the Kiosk Gallery in Provincetown. This painting measures 29" by 16" in its frame (23" by 10" painting alone). Paul Matthews studied at the Cooper Union Art School in NYC in the fifties. He is widely exhibited (many solo shows including in prestigious venues like the Zabriskie Gallery), and collected.
