Sprites are derived from European folklore and are mythical creatures. This is a water sprite known to breath air and water. They have the ability to fly. Her wings, tutu, and specter are studded with clear rhinestones. Her face has an oval ruby glass stone. Her longs legs and arms are also very much Murray Slater. She is gold plated over metal usually sterling although this one is unmarked. It is 3 1/2" x 2 1/4" . Circa 1940.
As you can see by the patent below, this duette was designed by Gene Verrechio and patented in 1941. Pat # for the duette is Des. 126,490 and for the clip #1798867.
Coro invented the "Duette" in the 1930s. An ingenious invention. The design involves two pin clips that fit together, joined by a mechanism at the back, so they can be worn together as a single brooch. Or, you can take them apart, and wear them separately.

Kramer Jewelry Creations was in business in New York from 1943 to the late 1970's. It was founded by Louis Kramer and did some of the designs himself in the beginning. They manufactured a wide range of jewelry, from the simple to the extravagant. They used Austrian rhinestones to plastic inserts. Kramer of New York was located 393 5th Avenue, New York, New York. Kramer jewels can be marked: Kramer of NY Kramer of New York Kramer Amourelle (these pieces are rare from 1963 and were designed by Frank Hess, former head designer of Haskell Jewelry) Christian Dior by Kramer (Yes, they produced for Christian Dior)
The detailed modeling is in the Russian gold finish they made famous for its photographic effect. The crab sits on a scallop shell and holds a large and lustrous simulated pearl. It is hallmarked Joseff signature on an applied plaque. It is 2" x 2 1/4".
Joseff was the jeweler for the Hollywood movie moguls form 1930-1948.

This mid-1950 Selro "Samurai warriors" bracelet is 7 1/4" x 1.5" at its widest point. It is hallmarked Selro Corp. on the back of each warrior as well as on the metal. The heads are thermoplastic with painted detailing.
This bracelet has smooth polished rectangular cabochon slabs of jade set in 14K yellow gold interspersed with 5 different Chinese character plaques. It has a hidden round slide in clasp. It measures approximately 7 3/4" x 8 mm in width, and is approximately 2 ctw..

The stones are orange Campsie Fells jasper, green and red bloodstone from the Isle of rum, deep red carnelian agate from Glenfarg in Perthshire. Fantastic workmanship! C clasp is in good working condition.
