An incredibly large and heavy hand carved wood architectural piece, with high relief carved pair of dragons on either side of a central ball of light surrounded in sacred lingzhi clouds. Depicted is a pair of mystical dragon fish on either side, a traditional symbol in China of transformation and new beginnings. The carving floats on a custom steel plates and mounts.

A Japanese genko wood carving of a large frog with a puffed out chest and a smaller frog standing on its back. Hand carved with wonderfully lifelike detailing. Artist's signature on the underside reads "Kokei". Kokei was a netsuke carver who lived around 1781-1801 (Edo Period). He was especially good at carving tigers and hence his name means "tiger valley". He was born in Ise and learned his skills in Kameyama.

A pair of Japanese wooden carvings of the Nio, or wrathful guardians to the Buddha. While Buddhism beliefs are typically pacifist, the Nio justified physical force in order to defend against evil and are usually found on either side of a temple door.
