With the purchase of the lease on the Nymphenburg factory by Albert Baumi in 1887 the factory started to re-produce figures that had been originally made in the 18th century. This figure of a Turk, originally modeled by Bustelli, is one of those. An oversized plate (10 ½ inches (26.7 cm) diameter) with a hand painted bouquet of petunias in the center, surrounded by a thick gilt band and the elaborately molded lip with the molding picked out in gold.
