On the right fold are: The Presentation of Christ to the Temple, Baptism, Transfiguration, and Entrance to Jerusalem...

A very nice early German School carved and painted figure of Madonna, Germany, ca. 1500 AD.

She is standing crossing her arms in long garments and a robe with hood. Finely painted in colours.

Condition: Choice for type! Basically intact with limited wormbites and some flaking of the paint, still nice and sound.

Imposing standing wood sculpture of He Xiangu何仙姑- the only women in the pantheon of the Eight Chinese Immortals. This is at least Qing dynasty probably earlier originally she would be holding a lotus in her hands. Once source describes her as being “the Patron Saint of Housewives”. Height: 97cm/38in and has a lovely benevolent expression and enigmatic smile. Condition as pictured, there is a dedication niche on back but the contents have been removed

Antique mother-of-pearl carvings from the 19th century. Christian icon of convex oval form, finely hand carved in low relief with a central raised panel depicting "The Nativity" with a winged angel above.

Shells such as these were sold in the 18th -19th century to Christian pilgrims in Jerusalem and Bethlehem, where they were carved in relief and pierced by hand by local Palestinian craftsmen...

This particular piece is a very unique, stone prayer tablet. It is difficult to date but stylistically could be as early as the Five Dynasties period (907-960 AD). These tablets were often found in conjunction with the ceramic offering vessels from Yunnan. The tablets would accompany the offering vessels and would sometimes comprise an enclosure for the offering vessels. (See trocadero item number 797164 for an example of the offering vessel)...

Very rare antique, first half of the 18th century, European pewter Roman Catholic Church paten of typical circular form with wide, finely engraved crest of the Roman Catholic Archbishop Jean-Louis Berton des Balbes de Crillon.

The coat-of-arms depicting Heraldic shield with the coat-of-arms of one of the most important European aristocratic families of the famous house De Balbes Berton de Crillon, crowned by the Archbishop Galero (wide-brimmed hat) with 10 tassels on each side.

This exquisite antique 17th-century European Baroque Crucifix is a true masterpiece of art. A lovingly carved "pitch pine" Madonna by self taught Sister Josephine - one of Saint Francis Cabrini's first orphans who, according to the accompanying letter, was "close to and loved by Mother Cabrini". Mother Cabrini was the first American citizen to be canonized by the Roman Catholic Church and is the Patron Saint of Immigrants. Sister Josephine was born 1n 1877 - the same year that Mother Cabrini took her religious vows - she died, aged 101, in New York. Condition - very good...

Egg tempera on chalk ground. Wooden panel. Silver oklad, stamped with assayers marks 84, makers mark M.I. in Cyrillic, dated 1843. Some losses to the silver oklad.

Lost wax cast bronze Christ. Probably original wooden cross. The fine quality sculpture is certainly the work of a good artist. It would be interesting and profitable to find out who it is. I don't know much about European art but the sculptor who thought of this bead of skin above the nail hole of the feet was not a simple craftsman. Beautiful cast , neat scraper finish. Beautiful original patina. Good condition, the original nails are missing which can be done free of charge on request...
