A deep cobalt blue salt or sweetmeat, probably of German origin. The bowl has a silvered everted rim with silver leaf decoration and is above an inverted baluster stem. Rough pontil. No condition problems, and with a maximum diameter of 4" and a height of 3 1/2".

An outstanding Restoration period French silver wine taster in the 18th century style typical of Lyon. With the restoration of the Bourbon monarchy, many old styles from the ancien regime once again came into fashion, and this tastevin, building on decorative elements typical of the 1770's, is a perfect example. Tastevins with snake-form handles were particularly popular. Those with a pair of snake heads that somewhat resemble bird's heads flanking a sphere are typical of silver from Lyon...

Lovely blown flint glass sugar bowl or covered comport in a panel design, the molded bell-shaped lid rising to a pointed finial. The bottom has a polished pontil. The glass is of heavy weight and good clarity.

This porcelain tea pot was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufactory, or KPM, in 1810. It is 6 inches high and 8 inches from the spout to the handle. The pot is made of fine, hard paste porcelain. It has a unique handle and spout. The pot is tastefully hand decorated with sprigs of cornflowers and foliage. It has a very traditional European look. A hand painted Ashworth Imari ironstone dinner plate from 1899. This wonderfully decorative Victorian 10-1/2" dinner plate is in the Imari palette with a cobalt and gold border and a central floral panel with Oriental cameos around the edge. Ornament applied to exterior: Medallions inset with male youth heads surrounded by leaf-and-berry branches. Bowl underside center has petal lobing to which are mounted two side handles with stylized leaf-caps on split volute scroll terminals...

This neo-classically inspired porcelain pitcher is magnificent in its grace and, dare I say, grandeur. It expands as it rises from its gilded circular foot then recedes to give rise to a towering helmet style beaker. The base of the handle is anchored in a shield from which it serpentinely shoots up and then down to attach to the rim. The gilding is sumptuous especially around the hand painted scene of a riparian idyll with 2 people in discourse...

This porcelain vase was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. It is 6 5/8” high with a diameter of 5 ½”. Large scrolled frame (vacant) surrounded by rural idyll with house and barn set in bosky landscape. In foreground a hunter takes aim at a fox. No vermin allowed in paradise. New York retailer’s stamp (Ball, Black & Co.) and star and eagle associated with Hartford production. Very good condition with nice patina.

A Pair of Sterling Tazzas or Cake Trays, by Dominick and Haff with an Extensively Chased Design. Dimensions; 11" in diameter and 4.5" high. Weight is and impressive 25 ounces each (50 ounces total). There is a monogram "R" on one of them. From the early 1900's and in excellent condition. Note that there are a matching pair pair of candlesticks available (Item number 1418).

Sterling silver collar with helmet mouth and applied leafing scroll and beaded rim. Silver-mounted horn handle. A beautiful big game-era piece. Silver fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 305. Excellent condition.

Elegant 19th C. chocolate or demitasse coffee pot by Shreve & Co. Measures 10 5/8" tall and 7 3/4" wide (including spout and handle). There are two ivory insets in the beautiful elongated handle. One side has an engraved stag's head. Marks on base include an "S" on each side of a bell, "Shreve & Co., Sterling, San Francisco". On close inspection, I noticed a small dent on the underside of the spout (near top). Otherwise, excellent condition, inside and out. Circa 1890.
