A large and impressive baroque pewter Chalice with lid, made in Germany dated 1724 / ANNO 1733!

With a large inscription in fine writing and here dated ANNO 1733 by the owner, but on the stamps inside the lid, the maker has dated it 1724. Maker is 'Morten Muhlhiesen Smidt' - the original note with a detailed description of the maker etc. in German comes with the sale...

Very nice Gorham sterling silver pin cushion/sewing box. The arched rim of the pierced silver holder has a slightly Gothic appearance. The silk velvet top lifts off to reveal an opening for storing thread, buttons, etc. The interior is lined with the original lime green silk. The bottom is stamped with Gorham's older hallmark.

Origin: America, circa 1900. Condition: silver is excellent, the velvet covering shows the normal considerable wear. Size: 4-3/8" x 3-1/4" x 2-1/4" tall.

A macabre bronze figural cigar cutter in the form of a guillotine. The perfectly detailed guillotine includes a movable “bascule” and “lunette”. On the full-size models, these were the portions to which the victim was strapped and tilted into the machine and the part with a hole that surrounded the neck to hold the head still. In this case, a cigar is laid on the bascule and the lunette closes around the very tip of the cigar...

French Belle Epoque 950 silver tureen, ca 1910. Tapering oval curvilinear bowl on same raised foot with gadrooned rims. Leaf-mounted double c-scroll end handles. Raised cover. Restrained turn-of-the-century Classicism enlivened with a cast still life finial: A couple bird carcasses draped on top of a sweet bunny, with forelegs raised as if to hop away, and hindlegs limp and splayed now that hopping is no longer an option...

A beautiful facet cut ale glass with gilded hops and barley, decorated by the famous and much desired craftsman, James Giles. The facet cutting extends from the base, through the stem and 1/3 up the bowl.

Standing 5 7/8 inches tall, with a bowl diameter of 2 3/8 inches, and a foot diameter of 2 1/2 inches, the glass is of 2 part construction and is in superb condition, with no chips, cracks, or restoration...

A Wedgwood Creamware (Queensware) Reticulated Bowl or Basket with a Handpainted Floral and Butterfly Pattern. Wedgwood imprint and Date letters VOH for July 1879. Dimensions of bowl 9" long x 7" wide x 2.75" high. The condition is close to excellent.

A Copper Lustre Goblet with Hand Painted Floral Decorations; circa 1820. Dimensions 4.75" high x 3.25" wide at top and 2.75" at base. Some slight age wear, but in very good condition.

Edwardian sterling silver 3-piece coffee set. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1917-8. This set comprises coffeepot, creamer, and sugar.

Coffeepot has tapering ovoid body with flush and hinged cover and s-spout with tooled curvilinear frames and scalloped mount. Creamer and sugar round and bellied. Handles capped with reeded bands. Feet round and stepped. Applied girdles comprising rectilinear frames with reeded bands...

French walnut oil jug from France. A large brown-glazed terracotta storage vessel with pouring spout. It is a rare piece and unusual to find one without handles. Chips to spout. Expected for age. Measures 10" diameter, 14" high

Terrific enameled sherry bottle/decanter label. The enamel is applied over metal and has polychrome floral decoration. The chain is brass.

Edwardian Art Nouveau sterling silver picture frame. Made by Cornelius Saunders & Frank Shepherd in Birmingham in 1904. Shaped rectangular window in shaped surround with bracket feet. Chased ornament: Entwined tendrils and flower heads spilling over molded border and scallop shells surrounded by dynamic scrolls. Mounted to stained wood with hinged easel support. With beveled glass and silk lining. For portrait (vertical) display. Fully marked at bottom. Very good condition with deep patina...

Offered is this beautifully enameled Bohemian glass vase. The vase is decorated with gold-gilt floral motif. The highlight of the vase is the ornately hand-painted floral medallion that was applied to the glass-body. The vase is a little over 10 inches (25 cm) tall. Except for some roughness in a couple of spots on the base-rim (see second-last picture), it is in very good condition (there is the expected, age-appropriate wear to the gold gilt)...

An Excellent Porcelain Armorial Inkstand or Deskset, made by Edme Samson et Cie, Paris, circa 1880. In a Rectangular Shape, with Two Inkwells, with Inserts. Dimensions; 10.25" wide x 7,75" deep x 3.5" high. In excellent shape, except for a slight chip on on of the inkwell tops (see picture). There is no mark on the underside, but it is definitely Samson, based on other items we have recently posted.

A blue and white transfer printed plate with the Boy on a Buffalo pattern - one of the first Chinese patterns to be "translated" by the English potteries and first used by Spode c 1795, soon also by other potters. The specific border used for this pattern adapts itself well to the lobed shape of the rim. Around 1800, unmarked, possibly Spode. Diameter "8¾/ 22 cm. Condition: fine.
