Elegantly constructed with black lacquered wood, gilded bronze adornments along the top, side, and bottom friezes, and a wonderful central bronze plaque of frolicking cherubs, all surmounted by a veined off-white marble top that appears to be original. Comes with original functioning key.

Incredibly beautiful original  Vernis Martin French cabinet from the late 1800s. For the collector of early and folky American furniture, here is a type of chair commonly referred to as a "firehouse" chair, made of wood, painted generally black but with yellow piping stripes along the top rail and seat, and on the legs. Offered is this two-stacking-table set made by Emile Galle around 1890. Both tables, made of fruit-wood, are marquetry-decorated with typical art nouveau motif. The larger table is 25 inches (64 cm) long, 18 3/4 inches (48 cm) tall and 12 1/4 inches (31 cm) wide. The smaller table is 21 1/8 inches (54 cm) long, 16 1/2 inches (42 cm) high and also around 12 1/4 inches wide. For their age, both tables are in good to very good condition - there is age-appropriate wear to them...

Exquisite Alexander Roux bed circa 1850 in the gothic/rococo style. Roux was born in France and emigrated to New York where he became one of the most sought after cabinet makers of American Victorian furniture. The bed measures 7'9" tall x 7'4" long x 4'8" wide. The frame is in very strong, heavy and solid and upholstery work is new. These chairs will go together very well with #1386068 Sheraton sofa in the very elegant traditional living room setting.

Japanese merchants chest known as a gyoshu baku. Made of 100% sugi (Japanese Cypress) wood. Hand forged iron hardware. Single hinged with latching door. Tucked inside are seven drawers. Gyohu bakus are meant to be worn on the backpack for ease of transport and organized storage.

DESCRIPTION: An early 19th C. three door country New England corner cupboard in original dark blue paint with reddish trim. The interior is washed with a pale green milk paint and has three shelves in the upper portion and storage space in the bottom. Two door panels have age cracks to the wood. A superb piece for a country interior. DIMENSIONS: 71 1/2" high x 41 1/2" wide x 19 1/2" deep.

A fine example of a mid 19th century salesman's sample or doll's chair. This piece is all original, including its red paint and the woven splint seat.
