According to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, “The "Venetian" pattern was one of the more elaborate designs for ornamental desk sets. It is described in a 1920 trade catalogue as decorated with fields of richly chased ornament relieved by a deeply carved band of ermines at the base of each piece."

DESCRIPTION: A late 19th to early 20th century cast iron garden bench with serpentine crest over the back and side arms and a classic openwork fern pattern with pierced seat, the naturalistic legs having side stretchers with similar fern decoration. A very fine and masssive Japanese Edo Period Satuma Vase, measuring 25.5” in height. Satsuma was done in the last quarter of the nineteenth century and after 1900, went out of production as Japan was moving towards modernization. This is an amazing fine decorated with decorations of vignettes of Japanese culture. Done circa 1910-1920 which is remarkable as few are know from this late production. Furthermore, with the original gold leaf pagoda style lid.

Beautifully carved solid mahogany server by R.J. Horner, New York measuring 72" long x 24" deep x 39" high. The front legs have carved women with garlands of flowers. There are 2 spring loaded drawers in the front. This great piece of furniture is in wonderful condition and will fit beautifully in a dining room or hallway.

The graphic impact of this blanket box with paint decoration is absolutely stunning. It is swirl decorated in black over a yellowish-putty color, and virtually all the paint is intact. Adding to the special nature of this piece is its dainty size, measuring 31 inches long by 15 1/4 inches deep by 13 1/2 inches tall. Further, the box has a molded base, and an ogee molded edge around the top. The wood is poplar, often used in Pennsylvania and Ohio...

A fine antique walnut corner cabinet with beautiful warm patina - though I suspect that it has been refinished somewhere along the road. Wood shelves; dentil molding; wood pegs still present; brass hinges, and closing clasps added. Double doors top and bottom. I suspect that the feet have been cut somewhat. It has normal wear and tear of a piece of this age. The cabinet is at least 19th C, but may even be late 18th century...

FinePair of Italian Grand Tour Bronze Candlesticks with nicely detailed foliate decoration and with good patina and fine castings. Having a removable ormolu drip pan above a bronze candle cup and supported by a turned and foliate decorated column with a tripartite scrolling ormolu base and mounted on a tripartite bronze plinth. These would have been brought home as a souvenir by someone who had made the Grand Tour. Italy, circa 1870. Height: 11.25"
