A very fine and masssive Japanese Edo Period Satuma Vase, measuring 25.5” in height. Satsuma was done in the last quarter of the nineteenth century and after 1900, went out of production as Japan was moving towards modernization.
This is an amazing fine decorated with decorations of vignettes of Japanese culture. Done circa 1910-1920 which is remarkable as few are know from this late production. Furthermore, with the original gold leaf pagoda style lid.

An antique Japanese Tansu chest in 3 sections called Ishodansu made of Tochi (Horse Chestnut) and Hinoki (Cypress) woods. This chest was used for Kimono and clothes storage. Original bronze hardware and wiped lacquer finish. The front has a smooth channeled frame. Behind the sliding doors of the upper section lies a small drawer to the left and a corner shelf to the right side. Center section has 3 drawers and the bottom section has 2 drawers.

From our Fine Arts and Americana Collection, a fine dore bronze wall sconce, late 19th to early 20th century, fully gilded with four separate candlestick holders cast in floral motif. We are not positive whether this is French fin de siecle, or American Art Nouveau circa 1905-1915, but in any event an elegant piece. We probably didn’t do this piece proper justice in the way we photographed it, but at night with 4 candles aflame, it is a very striking and evocative piece.
