A stunning fine antique Japanese makie lacquer box decorated with a tataki-nuri style black background with makie of vines and gourd and folding fans on the exterior. The interior is decorated in nashiji with a still life of a flower arrangement set in a basket with a charming lifelike rabbit and autumn grass for the inner tray. The vibrant colors and designs are often seen in lacquer works from the Edo and Meiji periods...

When we say that these candelabra are "le fin de siecle" we are referring to more than their late 19th century manufacture. They are superb example of Baroque style lighting which befits a place begging for a fine appointment. Why are we using French to describe these Italian cast brass masterpieces which must surely be one of a kind?

The candelabra have an architectural solidity with the square feet supporting floral faced blocks which frame a flower and scrolling vine motif...

A large lacquered papier maché table snuff box made in Braunschweig (Brunswick), Germany. The lid with a portrait of an old man, a prophet. Early 19th century, probably by Stockmann, unsigned. Diameter "4½/ 11 cm, height "1½/ 4 cm. Condition: a chip to the inner rim of the box, as seen on photo.

Rare English Regency Hawksbill and Greenback Tortoiseshell Tea Caddy with ivory and pewter stringing, having cut corners and a bowed front panel with pressed tortoise in concentric ovals with fan corners and central inlaid silver oval with leafage border; the bowed lid surmounted by a ball finial and the whole raised on ball feet. Exceptional George III Serpentine Chest of Drawers or Commode in the French Manner having a moulded edge serpentine top with overhanging sides above two over three conforming drawers, rounded front corners and bold bracket feet. A very beautiful and wonderful rare Chinese Qing Dynasty Armorial pitcher depicting an American Fleet of ships complete with an American flag. The pitcher late nineteenth or early twentieth century is in wonderful condition. Measuring 7” tall

19th Century French bronze hinged box with engraved sides. The lid featured a rooster made of very fine feathers under glass. Original lining. In excellent condition, this little treasure measures approximately 4 1/4" long, 1" deep and 3" at widest point.
