This lovely clothes brush has a sterling top patterned with the classic Art Nouveau Swirling tresses and flowers. The brush is marked F & B for the Theo. W. Foster & Bro. Company of Providence RI. This company was incorporated under that name in 1898 and was among the largest manufacturers of jewelry & sterling silver vanity goods in the Art Nouveau period.
The brush is 5 ½" X ¾" and dates from 1900-1910.

This absolutely beautiful set of American carved mahogany chairs is top of the line. They are Chippendale in style, circa 1900. There are acanthus leaves on the knees and ball and claw feet. The two armchairs measure 39" tall x 25 1/2" wide, and the six side chairs measure 39" tall x 22" wide.
For the collector of early and folky American furniture, here is a type of chair commonly referred to as a "firehouse" chair, made of wood, painted generally black but with yellow piping stripes along the top rail and seat, and on the legs. There is also a bit of worn red and gold on the spindles holding up the back.....forgive me if I don't use the correct terminology but I am generally an art seller, not a furniture specialist...
FinePair of Italian Grand Tour Bronze Candlesticks with nicely detailed foliate decoration and with good patina and fine castings. Having a removable ormolu drip pan above a bronze candle cup and supported by a turned and foliate decorated column with a tripartite scrolling ormolu base and mounted on a tripartite bronze plinth. These would have been brought home as a souvenir by someone who had made the Grand Tour. Italy, circa 1870.
