Antique Chinese square faceted box made of black lacquered wood with inset rattan panels. The top of the box is decorated with a rural scene of court figures in a garden painted in gold lacquer on a black lacquer ground. The box stands on small feet and cut-out details on the bottom portion of the box are lacquered red. A beautiful overall crackle of the lacquer speaks of the box's age.

Unique double diamond Chinese Lacquer Box from the 18th C. The lid of the box has a gold painted mountain scene with two sages near a mountain stream. The crackling of the lacquer indicates the age of the box. The woven wicker inserts encased in a red painted frame on the 8 sides are in pristine condition. Small gold flowers are painted adjacent to the frames. The interior of the box is a large open space.

Very rare lacquered original Han ear cup with a surface decorated in red and black lacquer in scrolling patterns and abstract motifs painted on the ears. Size: L. 20cm. W. 15.5cm. H. 6cm. This large Chinese scale has metal balance beams and shallow metal bowls. The scale fits into an ornately carved red and black lacquer wooden case which is slightly domed and has its original copper band closure. There is some wood chip loss around what was the hole for the string which allowed the case to be hung up for storage. Dating from the 1800's the braided cords which attach the shallow bowls to the metal balance beam appear to be replacement cords...

A unusual rare black wooden lacquered plate with a three fish design and a little frog. Very unusual to find wooden plates from that period. Age: Ten Kingdoms, 907 - 979 AD Size: Radius: 17cm. Condition: Some dirt incrustation from long burial and small old chips around the rim and one little piece glued on the rim. Overall not bad for the age. See photos.

Antique Chinese tassels from the 18th centur, Sino-TIbetan. The tassels are inlaid gilt and lacquered iron with red horse hair, probably used as ornaments on a horse for the saddle. The decoration has fret key bands and an endless knot pattern. The tassles are displayed in a plastic case. The top of the tassle measures 4" long(10.2 cm).
