Two green glazed Shekwan / Shiwan jars, probably late 19th century. Both with molded decoration of flower sprigs and a ruyi border. A pair of nicely formed hollow glazed pottery birds. Both have round plump figures and lots of character. The darker bird has two glazes - a brown splash of glaze that runs over a straw glaze. The lighter bird has a celadon colored glaze. The glaze on both birds have a very fine crackle.

Shown on page 57 fig. 53, is a candlestick in the form of a lion, though dated 12th-13th century, the spouted form atop the backside of the lion renders it a candlestick. In good condition with minor chips and grazing of the glaze, all commiserate with age. They measure 6 inches high...
