Exquisite Antique Japanese pair of large garden lanterns. Each is made of cast iron in 10 sections. The roof of each has raised writing, the lantern portions are decorated with kiri blossoms. The pedestals are coiled around with dragons in low relief, the base of each has high relief fu-dogs. Very difficult to collect. Antique Japanese low bronze suiban, or shallow tray to be filled with suiseki or viewing stones, sand and bonsai. It has an interesting shape with sides decorated by waves and sea shells. The feet are also sea shells. Size: 2" height, 14.25" length

Antique Japanese cast iron sake kettle (choshi) with brass lid, its sides decorated with scenes of nature, standing on three very short legs. Size: 7.5" height, 8.5" length

Antique Japanese iron tetsubin (tea kettle) decorated by raised flat areas of gaming tiles with engraved kanji, signed with artist's cartouche below the spout. Handle with figural pattern on body. Very nice patina inside and on the bottom where flames once heated it to make tea. Size: 8.25" height, 7.5" width

Antique Japanese bronze lantern with "braid" and crosshatch style sides, a hinged door with locking latch, roof style top, and sitting on four legs. Great patina. Size: 12" height, 10,5" width

Antique Japanese candle holder made of iron, with attractive teardrop shaped tiers that hold five candles on each side, two inside, and one main candle at its very top. Its base is rectangular and solid, with a nice patina, and it stands on three legs. Size: 60 cm height, 17" width

Antique Japanese bronze vase of a stout, round form with tiny handles and a round, shallow opening. It has areas of deep red and blackish pigment in a weblike, splatter pattern. It comes with a beautiful wooden box, with an artist's stamp and black kanji. Size: 8.5" height, 7" width

A small attractively patinated bronze (copper zinc alloy) koro or censer, possibly made in Japan during the 19th Century.. Condition: excellent - there is very minor surface ware consistant with careful old use as an incense burner; no damages losses or repairs.

A small beaker form vase of square section with vertical barbed halberd shaped vertical flanges dating to the Meji period. The decoration rather than cast has been cold chiselled in “Chinese style”. The upper register contains four seasonal vignettes, Spring Ume ni Egisu, Bush warbler and Plum blosson, Summer, Botan ni Kiji, Autumn Maple and Deer, Shika Momiji-zu, and Winter, Pine and Cranes, Matsu ni Tsuru...

Pair of Japanese antique abumi (horse riding stirrups), made of iron with silver inlay all over in beautiful designs of vines and leaves, the bottom of each stirrup is decorated with a bamboo motif, the foot areas are lacquered black, each abumi is inlaid with writing: Kaga Ishikawa Prefecture, Mori Hei Saku (artist's name and "signed by") lived in Komaki. Edo Period (18th century). Size of each: 9 1/2" high x 11 1/2" long x 5" wide.
