The Kodaiji pattern contains repeating pattern of chrysanthemums and paulownia flowers. The pattern originates from the noted temple on the eastern hills of Kyoto which the name is derived from. Antique Japanese bronze Bishamonten or guardian. Taisho period, 1912-1926. The Bishamonten is the protector of Buddhism, distributor of treasures and wealth and protector of warriors. He is the Shitenno guardian of the north, of riches and scourger of evil doers, and healer of illness. The Shitenno are the four heavenly guardians that protect the Buddha and his attendants. There is a seal on the base reading Nobu. It measures 38" tall.

A resplendent Japanese cloisonne vase decorated with motif of a plant often seen during the autumn in Japan. The Japanese name is Hozuki, while in English it is known as either Japanese Lantern or Winter Cherry. The motif symbolize the height of autumn and the plant is often used in flower arrangements. This is a wonderful slender pear shaped bronze vase from the Meiji era (1868-1912. It is highly detailed and decorated with three raised relief elephants. One of the images was deliberately overexposed to show off the fine detail. It has the original patina and is in excellent condition. Stands 12 3/4 inches tall and is signed underneath by Genryusai Seiya. Buyers should be careful because there are poor copies or fakes of this elephant vase showing up in auctions.

Used to create beautiful small garden scenes. It is supported by shell shaped feet. It is irregularly shaped. It measures 1.25" deep 14.5" wide, 6.75" long 2.25" tall with feet.

This late 19th or early 20th century lacquered bronze statue of a boy is 8 ¾ inches high, 4 inches wide and 2 ½ inches thick. It has a signature “Mantoshi” on the back. Aside from some wear due to its age, it is in good condition.
