Japanese late Edo period cylindrical form porcelain lidded wine pot on a raised foot decorated in underglaze blue with bands of leafy flowers set against a white porcelain ground. Fixed upright U-shaped handle. Mid-19th century. 8 3/4" high to the top of the handle x about 8” across to the tip of the spout. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Typical minor production irregularities.

Two Jubako stacking porcelain boxes enclosed in their unique wooden boxes which are both enclosed together in an additional outer wooden box for protection. According to the lid, the designs were by Kinoshita Itsuun and Uragami Gyokudo, and the pieces were made by Kawamoto Hansuke. A Chelsea-Derby dish copying a version of the Ko Imari Kuri-zu Shuronogata dish see EW 2608, decorated in a combination of underglaze cobalt blue and additional enamels. The dishes have a ground foot-ring which is characteristic of the output of the Chelsea factory. The dish is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration, some light stacking wear to the enamels and gilding to the rim. The dish measures 22cm in diameter and stands approximately 3.8cm high...

20th century Japanese satsuma vase is 12 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It depicts several geishas walking on a path near a lake during spring. There are mountains in the background, flowering trees in the foreground and houses surrounded by trees. It is signed ¡°koshida.¡± It carries a gilt circular rim with multicolor flowers below and around the bottom. It is in great condition.

A golden brocaded basket suspended in air and filled with flowers. A bird resting on a branch while another flutters about surrounded by the joy of spring. This cup and saucer is one of my personal favorites, delicate and translucent and without flaw; the gold accentuates the weaving of the basket, the flowers well arranged, and every detail seems to spring to life. Our treasure is perfect in every way, except for very minor wear along the raised spines of the foliated saucer...

An elaborately decorated Japanese porcelain elephant with applied beads of enamel and large areas of gold trim. There is a large five point gold leaf centered on its' back. The elephant measures about 9" long x 6" high x 4 1/4" wide, and dates to the early 20th Century. There is a badly worn "Made Japan" mark on the bottom of one foot. The condition is excellent, except for minor wear to some of the gold high points, like the forehead and ear edges...

A Japanese blue & white porcelain dish, moulded in ‘kraak’ style with the cavetto featuring butterflies and peaches in relief. The rinka, or petalled edge, with flowers. The centre of of the dish has a depiction of a gated pavilion set in a fabulous garden. Arita 1750 ~ 1770. A bowl with a very similar border design and alternate moulded butterflies and peaches is shown in the Catalogue of the Shibata Collection, item 3321.
