This well cast Meiji period Japanese bronze vase is 10 ¾ inches tall and 4 inches in diameter at its widest. It depicts a wild goose flying away from the moon. The moon is silver inlaid and the goose is silver overlay on top of the bronze body. The goose eye and feet is gold. There is a maker¡¯s seal on the bottom, it reads ¡°Kyoto, made by Kuroda¡±. There are a few scratches on the body and lighter color around the moon due to cleaning.

A rare iron hanging censer in the shape of a Mongolian Saddle Stirrup (Abumi) with silver mesh lid covering half the top. It comes in an age-darkened and worm-eaten kiri-wood box titled simply Tsuri Koro. The receptacle is 13.5 x 7 x 15 cm (5-1/2 x 3 x 6 inches) and is in excellent condition, dating from the Edo period.

Okimono sculpture in bronze of a crow perched on a tree stump in varnished wood. Its eyes are in shakudo.
In Japan, the crow (karasu) is a symbol of gratitude and family love. It is also considered as the divine messenger of good omen. The Kojiki (713) relates that the crow Yatagarasu guided the mythical founder of Japan, Emperor Jinmu (660-585 BC), on a military campaign to Yamato.
