This is one of the earliest and rarest original types of vases made in Vietnam. It has a rich chocolate brown glaze with beautiful drippings going down to the base. Featuring a baluster shaped body, rising from a splayed foot to a long cylindrical neck and is decorated with a central three-clawed dragon, chasing a flaming pearl, bordered by encircling lappets and a mountain peak opposite a vegetal growth, below two cranes on opposite sides of its neck. A fine Antique Porcelain BENJARONG/BENCHARONG BOWL, specially made in China for the Siamese Court and Nobility. Late 18/19th Century. The inside is emerald green with flower decor and a center medallion, whereas the outside depicts 4 alternative Norasingh and Kinaree figures on a Famille Noire background. Size: 17.1 cm. diameter x 8.9 cm height (3 1/2" x 6 3/4". Good condition, with 1 firing hairline on top rim, hardly noticeable, except upon close inspection. Rare size and item!
