A large and attractive gilt wooden buddha, Burmese, c. late 19th.- early 20th. century.
The Buddha standing on a small throne and a black painted plint. He is righly addorned in a fancy dress with multiple glass stones in red and green colours.
Size: c. 74 cm. tall, incl. plint.
Condition: Choice and intact with remaining gilt overall.
Provenance: Collection of Gunna Munkvad, Denmark, aquired from the 1960s-1980s.
A nicely carved Pyu green fluorite micro elephant. It is unusual to find a fluorite carving this small. Condition: No repairs. It looks like in drilling the hole a small piece of one of the tusks was lost but still a nice piece. Size: See Last photo.

Genuine antique Shan lacquer box circa late 19thCE. Most Burmese lacquer being offered on the internet purported to be antique are vintage at best and new at worst. I acquired this in Yunnan, China along the Burmese border but of Shan (nationality in China). Although there is some damage the craftsmanship is exquisite which is why I put a grain of sand in a couple of the images to put the work into perspective...

Ikat sarong from the upland Karen (Pwo or Sgaw) ethnic group in Northern Thailand. This is woven from all handspun cotton thread and natural dyes. Acquired in the 1980s, it has never been used and as such may be described as being in pristine original condtion. The cloth coming these people nowadays, are nowhere near this quality. W: 87cm/34in and L: 152cm/61in.
The three-sided style of the phurba comes from an ancient tool used to pin down sacrifices. The phurba has 3 segments to represent its power to transform negative energies. These energies are known as the "three poisons" and are attachment, ignorance, and aversion. The 3 sides of the phurba also represent the 3 spirit worlds and the phurba itself unites those worlds. The handle of the phurba represents "wisdom" while the blade represents "methods"...
An interesting and very finely made massive opium weight, Late Shan, 19th./20th. cent.
Peculia weight or figure in the general shape of a 'Kissing bird' of the Shan Burma, but with some added features in the form of fine engravings and a handle.
The figure comes from a very good old collection and is in our opinion genuine old and antique. It weighs around 700-750 grams and was likely made in the very end of the period with opium weights as a unofficial decorative piece...
Terracotta votive plate depicting six seated Buddhist deities surmounting four smaller ones. Thailand, Khmer period known as Lopburi, 12-14th century. 91 mm high x 68 mm wide x 17 mm thick. The plate is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Abrasion due to great age, otherwise very good condition.
A figure of Avalokiteshvara, with four arms, standing, wearing a short "sampot" carved with parallel pleats and secured with a jeweled belt, hair arranged in a cylindrical topknot centered by a diminutive figure of Buddha Amithaba. Classic semi antique Laotian textile from the Tai Daeng ethnic group. This was acquired in 1991, just when Lao was opening itself for tourism and was about 30 years old at the time so this would date pre Vietnam War era. It is mounted onto a commercial Chinese chintz cloth border (looks original), made from all hand spun cotton and silk thread in the embroidery (except for the black pattern). Fine and rare large conch shell pendant from Central Thailand Bronze Age, Ban Chiang or Lopburi cultures circa 300BCE-500CE. Superb condition with minimal calcification may still be worn! The spiral is one ancient humans most universal motifs in adornment, it is understandable why people were drawn to this. Included is a museum quality perspex stand (total H: 14.5cm/5.6in). A rare and superb seated bronze Buddha, Subduing Mara Thailand, 2nd. period of U-Thong Style, 14th.-15th. Century AD.
Artistic and sensitive portrait, finely worked details and the robe is draped in the open mode with a long flap over the left shoulder ending above the navel. Notice also the band between the hairline and the forehead, probably from Wat Mahathat, Sukhothai.
