This handle is in cast bronze with 2 welded sides and gilded. The carving is of the best quality and the sculptur is powerful, announcing an excellent artist. It must have been part of a very large censer or vase in certainly imperial cloisonné enamel that is somewhere.Certainly Kienlong period or earlier.

It has a hairline crack 10.82 inches (27.5 cm) in length at the side of the vase along with flea bite chips at the crack. It also has rubbing of gold, skip glazes, stains, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A gilt copper repousse figure of Garuda, finely worked with outstretched wings, his hands in the Karan mudra or demon-expelling mudra.
He wears long necklaces hanging from his neck, with matching arm bands and wristlets. The front of the figure with gold gilt, blue, green, and orange pigments with black and white pigments for the eyes. Garudas are protectors and enemies of the Naga or serpents.

A rare mid 17th Century conical form bowl decorated to the exterior with playful buddhistic lions and peony sprays. The rim is washed brown and the base carries the six character retrospective Ming mark of the Jiajing emperor. This item was made circa 1644 to 1680 during the Shunzhi or early Kangxi reign.
