This outstanding hand made silver cloisonn¨¦ and jade bracelet is 7 inches long and 3 quarters of an inch at the widest part. It is an early 20th century product. The workmanship is superb and is in great shape. This is from a collection which we are selling for a retired jeweler. There are seven pieces of pale jade, every piece of jade is surrounded by butterfly design cloisonn¨¦. The back is a woven silver design.

This early 20th century ivory carving of a Chinese female warrior ¡°MULAN¡± is 11 inches tall (including the base, it is 12 ½ inches tall), 2 ½ inches wide and 1 ¾ inches thick. It depicts the legendary heroine ¡°MULAN¡± dressed as a warrior. Her right hand holds a sword; her left hand holds a spear. She carries a bow and a quiver of arrows on her back. This unusual 19th century Japanese wood netsuke ¡°Oni hiding in the box¡± is 1 ¼ inches tall and 1 inch wide. It depicts an Oni hiding his head and upper body in a wood box (or a container for rice). He peeps through from a hole while his right arm sticks out from the other hole. There are two small kernels of rice on his bony back. A third kernel which should be on the side of the box is missing. The workmanship is superb. It is carved from unknown hard wood and is not signed...

This 19th century Japanese unsigned hardwood okimono of SENNIN (hermit or immortal) is 2 1/8 inches tall, 1 inch wide and 1 ¼ inches in depth. He is carrying a basket of vegetables, and a small double gourd tied on his back. His right hand is missing; there are some chips on his nose, sleeves and both shoes.

This 19th century Japanese unsigned hardwood netsuke of KARAKO (Chinese boy or boy in Chinese dress) is 1 ½ inches tall, 1 ¼ inches wide and 1 ¼ inches in depth. It depicts a smiling boy holding a puppy in front of him. The workmanship is superb. Besides a tiny chip on the back of the robe, it is in excellent.

This 18th century Japanese unsigned boxwood netsuke of FUKUROKUJU (in phallic shape) is 2 ¼ inches tall, 1 ½ inches wide and 1 ¼ inches in depth. It is in excellent condition.

This mid 19th century Chinese jade (nephrite) carving is 3 ½ inches long, 2 inches tall and 2 inches wide. It depicts two monkeys resting on a reclining horse. In Chinese culture, this is a very popular subject in that it is a visual representation of a pun. The pronunciation of monkey ¡°HOU¡± is the same with ¡°nobility¡± or ¡°officer¡±. ¡°On top of a horse¡± is pronounced ¡°MA SHANG¡± which is the same as ¡°right away¡± or ¡°immediately¡±...

The two Chinese bamboo root carvings are about 12 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 4 inches thick. They came as a pair but can be displayed separately. They were carved in the late 19th century. Both depict wild geese. Their heads are turned toward a lotus and some unknown plants are behind them. The taller of the two is a little darker. Beside some small cracks and chips they are in fairly good condition.

This late 19th century Chinese white jade (nephrite) dragon head shape buckle is 3 inches long, ¾ inch wide and ¾ inch thick. There are a few small chips and flaw on the side of the body.

This late 19th century carved white jade (nephrite) ornament can be used as pendant. It is 2 ¼ inches long, 1 ¼ inches wide and 3 /4 inch thick. One side is carved as a double gourd and a small heart-shaped leaf, the other side is a carving of two legendary animals facing each other. It is in excellent shape.

This mid or late 19th century Chinese carved root sculpture is 25 inches tall (with base), 11 inches wide and 3 ½ inches deep. One side carved as a maple tree and rock, the other side retains the natural form of the roots. The fitted hard wood base depicts a pine tree surrounded with rocks. This Chinese Jia Qing or Dao Guang period (1796~1850) hand painted enamel leaf-shaped tray is 12 ¼ inches long, 8 ¼ inches on the widest part and 1 1/8 inches high with legs. It depicts a blue orchid, two pink roses, an unknown yellow flower and a blue beetle with white spots on a turquoise background. It has yellow-green bottom and three legs. This tray was part of a private collection which was on display in 1970 at ¡°The China Institute in America¡± in New York...

This Chinese ivory court tablet is an extremely rare piece. It is a late Ming Dynasty (1368~1642) product. It is almost 19 ½ inches long, ¼ inch thick, 3 inches wide on one end and 2 inches wide on the other end. There are quite a few hairline cracks, several small chips and one repaired split.

This late 19th century Chinese carved ivory doctor¡¯s lady is 4 inches long, 1 inch wide and 1 inch thick. Her right hand is leaning on her head and her left hand is resting on her chest. There is a dark line (the center of the tusk) running the length of her side. Her whole body has slightly yellowed due to the age of the piece. She is in excellent condition.

This snuff bottle is molded in the form of a wine pot which is secured in a woven basket. It is inscribed with the wine maker¡¯s name De Run Zheng and the name of the wine Zhuang Yuan Hong. The seal mark is Yong Zheng period but is considered as Tong Zhi or Guang Xu period (1862~1908). It is 3 inches tall and 1 ¾ inches at the widest part. Beside some small chips on the woven part, it is in good condition.

This Chinese calligraphy couplet was written by late 19th century Chinese scholar and government official XU SHICHANG. Both scrolls are 16 inches wide and 64 inches long and in good condition. This early 20th century carved ivory Buddha statue (Japanese called Hotai) is 6 ¼ inches tall, 3 ¾ inches wide and 3 ¼ inches in depth. The whole statue was carved from one solid ivory tusk. This pair of enameled glass brush holders carries a wild geese and grass design. They are 5 ¼ inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. They came in blue brocade fitted boxes. Both have a ¡°Qian Long¡± (1736~1795) mark on the bottom. Near the date mark there is a red wax seal which indicates they were exported from mainland China. The color and the design are great. Both are in perfect condition.

This Chinese Ming Dynasty (1368~1615) bronze temple guardian is 14 ½ inches tall. The four characters on chest read ¡°pass to the heavenly gate¡±. The weapon he carried is missing. It is in good condition.

Early 20th century Chinese fine famille-rose vase is 8 ½ inches tall and 4 ¾ inches on the widest part. It depicts five children playing. It has a Qian Long mark on the bottom. However, we assume the mark is fictitious. It is beautifully painted and in good condition except for a tiny flaw on the rim.

Chinese Guang Xu period (1875~1908) Wucai vase is 9 inches tall. The vase came from the Warren Cox collection, New York. It depicts two flower vessels which are separated by calligraphy. Studio mark Cha Yi Xing on the bottom. It is in great condition.

Late 19th or early 20th century Japanese satsuma bowl is 2 ½ inches tall and 7 inches in diameter. It has a magnificent insect and floral design on both the interior and exterior. It has an old repair on the rim and a small hairline crack. Signed.

20th century Japanese satsuma vase is 12 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It depicts several geishas walking on a path near a lake during spring. There are mountains in the background, flowering trees in the foreground and houses surrounded by trees. It is signed ¡°koshida.¡± It carries a gilt circular rim with multicolor flowers below and around the bottom. It is in great condition.

A Chinese reticulated iron porcelain snuff bottle with a dragon and phoenix among clouds beneath key fret and ryui border, neck with a silver rim, jade stopper. The red color is the same as used when decorating porcelain, though in this case it is applied as a solid color. The desired effect is to imitate red cinnabar lacquer. Circa, probably from the Jiaqing period (1796 - 1820). Height 3".

Old Chinese ivory figure of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy, in a refined and elegant pose. The body is made out of one piece elephant ivory and finish in a term "cold painted ivory" meaning that the color is applied without any firing to fix and harden it. This method of coloring ivory dates back to the Ming times and was particularly popular in the 18th century. This is probably 19th century piece. Her wonderfully tranquil face and the excellent painting make this a desirable piece.

This late 19th century Chinese ivory carving of a Smiling Buddha (Hotai) is 2 ¼ inches tall, 2 inches wide and 1½ inches deep. His eyes are inlaid horn. His head is raised up in a big smile. His left hand holds a sack; prayer beads are in the other hand. There are six children around him. A hand is missing on one of the children. Aside from that, the piece is in pretty good condition.

This late 19th century Chinese ivory statue of a bearded scholar is 5 ½ inches tall and 3 inches wide at the widest part. His eyes are half closed; he holds a scroll gently against his cheek. There are two characters read as ¡°Da Ming¡± on the bottom. The inscription means ¡°Great Ming Dynasty¡± which is quite common on ivory carvings or porcelain. There are a few hair line cracks due to the age of the piece. Over all, it is in great condition.

This superb ivory carving is 12 inches tall (including base) and 3 inches wide. The statue presents a legendary Chinese character who is a member of the eight immortals. According to legend, one day he told his follower that his spirit was going to travel far away. He asked the young follower to watch his body for seven days while he was away. If he did not come back after the seventh day, the young man must burn his body. Everything went well, the young man kept his promise and the spirit enjoy...

Chinese porcelain vase marked kangxi on the foot, but thought to be a late 19th century reproduction. There are domestic scenes painted in the over glaze enamels and repairs to the lip of the rim. At one time, the vase was used a lamp. Hence, the characters kangxi in the reign seal are restored and probably spurious. H: 24 inches, Diam: 8 inches

This late 19th century Chinese famille-rose water jar is 2 ¾ inches tall and 2 ¾ inches wide. It depicts five boys in a procession. The first two boys are holding banners and gongs. The third is holding a lantern. The forth child is dressed in red and is riding a Qilin (a Chinese legendary animal which has a dragon head and ox body). This boy carries a puppet. The last boy is holding a fancy umbrella. The workmanship is excellent and it is in great condition.

This early 20th century Chinese porcelain water jar is 2 ½ inches tall and 2 ¼ inches wide. It has hand painted butterflies and a floral design over a white background. The color is slightly worn and it is in good condition.

This late 19th century famille-rose water jar is 1 ¼ inches tall and 2 ¾ inches wide. It depicts a green and black bird standing on a tree branch with chrysanthemum blossoms on the side. The translation for the four Chinese characters is ¡°This style of drawing copies the Yuan Dynasty¡±. It is in great condition.

This famille-rose water jar is 2 ¼ inches tall and 2 ¾ inches wide. It is dated and signed to the Tong Zhi period (1862~1874). The four hand-painted pictures represent the four seasons. Hibiscus is the symbol of spring, willow for summer, peony for autumn and plum blossoms for winter. The color, especially the gold, is slightly worn. It is in great condition.

This mid 19th century famille-rose ink pan (box) is 2 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. On the top of the cover depicts two roosters fighting in the flower garden. The side is decorated with a floral design. It is in excellent condition.

This mid 19th century famille-rose seal box is 1¾ inches tall and 3½ inches in diameter. It has Qian Long mark on the bottom. The mark is fictitious which is quite common. It is decorated with a floral design. Though the color is slightly worn and tiny chip appears inside the cover, it is in great condition.

This leaf shape famille-rose brush washer is 1 ½ inches tall, 4 ¼ inches long and 3 ½ inches wide. It is dated and signed to the Tong Zhi period (1862~1874). The dish part is divided in two and hand painted with different kinds of flowers. The base is decorated with a green wave design and three orange bats. There is an old chip on the base, but over all, it is in good condition.

Mid 19th century Chinese blue and white ink pan (or box) is 2 inches tall, 3 ¾ inches long and 2 ¾ inches wide. The entire body is hand painted with pattern style of clouds, branches and flowers. The box is evenly divided into two parts. From the remains of pigment, it seems the box was used as a red ink (cinnabar) dish. It is in great condition.

Mid 19th century Chinese blue and white brush holder is 4 ¾ inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. It depicts a scholar with a staff standing in front of a hut which is surrounded by mountains and trees. It is in great condition.

This middle 19th century Chinese topaz brush washer is carved in the form of a large lotus leaf. Two small lotus blossoms and a seedpod lean on the large leaf. It is 4 inches wide and 1½ inches tall. There are a few chips due to the age of the piece.
