An Ai Kakiemon dish decorated with a repeating pattern of Hosoge, flowers of Precious appearance, which in this case would appear to be representations of auspicious Pomegranate fruits constructed from Ruyi, Acanthus style leaves and other disparate elements. The ring of Hosoge pierced by a circlet binding them together with a gobenka motif in the centre...

A Swatow type blue and white exported ware to South East Asian region. Late Ming dynasty 17th century Zhangzhou ware. Condition is very good, no any crack, no any chip and free from any restoration excepted slight with a bit warped. The lower part is the light reflection, that's not a repair. Diameter: 22 cm and Height: 7 cm.

This large and expressive sculpture is made, as expected, from joined segments, each separately carved. This technique is a diagnostic "telltale" which helps to date the piece. The figure sits in a devotional posture, leaning slightly forward with hands joined in a gesture of worship. Extensive remains of gesso and pigment. A unique early Edo Period 17th Century rectangular Lacquer Incense Box, with high relief and decorated with Gold Takamakie technique on thick Nashiji ground. A fine and large Arita export octagonal jar, 1680 ~ 1700. The jar has similar painting around the neck and shoulder as those produced at the Kakiemon kilns.

Approximately 40 cm high. In fine undamaged condition. I have shown some very shallow flakes on the inside of the neck, this appears to have occurred before the firing...

A Chinese bronze slender pear-shaped vase unusually cast in high relief with two guei dragons, each with long double-ended tail, one reaching the base, the other the rim. 31 cms, late Ming dynasty, 16th/17th century. A couple of shallow knocks to the underside. Otherwise good condition.

A lovely burial gift, this glazed and painted pottery offering table. The dishes with food and other objects are fixed to the table. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Condition: repairs to the legs, age wear to the glaze and painting. W. 22,5 cm, D. 16 cm, H. 22,5 cm. TL test from Kotalla included.

A fine gourd-shaped bottle decorated in Chinese Transitional style. Arita 1660 – 1680.

The bottle is decorated in late Ming style with the enjoyment of nature. These bottles are not uncommon but are seldom encountered with such fine painting.

The Catalogue of the Shibata Collection exhibits two similar bottles.

A large early Ming Longquan celadon dish, incised with swirling scrolls along the inner wall, and mold-decorated in the center with a floral roundel...

A definitely lvely pot with an extraordinary rich floral decoration with birds. The glaze and the deep cobalt blue blue strongly reminds on Chinese Jingdezhen ware pieces of the Ming Dynasty. Annamese ware ( Vietnam ) 15th - 16th century . Diameter : 7,4 cm. Condition : Perfect ( the glaze a little bit eroded, some fine glaze cracks, but no cracks in the body of the piece. )

Made in Ganga-Jumna (two color bronze) technique in the 17th century. This complicated technique is nowadays lost. Please note the very fine detail on this figure, like bracelets, anklets and rings. A large late Ming dynasty blue and white "Kraak" porcelain dish. The central star-shaped panel is decorated with flowering plants and a grasshopper or cricket on rockwork. The moulded sides are painted with alternating vertical panels of stylized peaches and buddhistic symbols. This item was made in China for export to Europe during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573-1619)...
