This is an Amygdaloidal Basalt , well hollowed, of circular form, with a round neck, a flat, wide lip, and a recessed oval foot surrounded by a footrim. The background is dark gray, almost black, and the attractive mineral inclusions of various shapes are light brown, blue, gray and some shades of red. Some of them have multicolor burst like forms. It comes with a like material stopper that shows various shades of blue...

A striking soft-glazed six-sided incense burner by Maki Hokusai decorated with white flower blossoms on soft flesh colored glaze surmounted by a silver lid pierced with the character Kotobuki (Fortune) by Hata Zoroku. The pot itself is 10 cm tall, plus the sliver lid. It comes in an ancient wooden box signed by Zoroku.

Antique Chinese round jadeite plaque carving. With a freely-moving pierced jade center, surrounded by lingzhi mushroom motif carvings. The outermost exterior of the piece is carved with a pair of dragons or serpents touching snouts.

A very interesting chawan (tea bowl) from the Korean Joseon period (Richo in Japanese; 1392-1897). This particular piece appears to date from the 15th/ 16th century and comes with what may be the original box and a quite old silk pouch. The light creamy crackled glaze is smooth in the hand and fine hairline fractures radiating along the walls of the bowl show remnants of gold repairs from previous centuries...

The title does not lie, this is one against which all others might be measured. A celebratory sake set consisting of three cups and a stand enclosed in their original lacquered wooden boxes. The cups are over the top, decorated with plum pine and bamboo in taka-maki-e gold over red replete with bits of kirigane gold and ke-uchi details. The cups are equally gorgeous on top and bottom, the design extending even inside the foot ring...

Mortise and tenon joinery with horizontal side supports and sliding doors with Persimmon runners for strength and aesthetic beauty...

H. 11,6 cm. Very nice age wear and a soft patina with traces of puja worship. Provenance: Belgian private collection.

Well hollowed, Rare Natural Cherry Amber (a form of Jet) Snuff Bottle This is a very fine, flattened, rounded rectangular form Snuff Bottle with a round, elongated neck, rounded sloping shoulders, and raised recessed elongated oval footing. Made of a rare red or natural Cherry Amber, which is thought to be another form of Jet. The bottle is well-hollowed, with very thin walls, thus, very light in weight. It is transparent, with a cherry red color...
