Bizen ware hexogonal vase with engravings of orchids on the side of the vase. The patina and color of the vase is very similar to those seen from the late Edo and early Meiji period. Interestingly, during this period elaborate decorations and moulding were created which was popular during this time. However, the vase does not contain the elaborate decorations and resembles more of tokoname wares emulating the Chinese yixing potteries. Age: Late Edo or early Meiji Period...

The enamels are rendered in meticulous detail in a pallet of greens, aubergine, yellows, reds and shades of blue. The cup has a soft velvet surface with shadows into a clear white tone. Very nice item. Edo Period Japanese Noh Theater Mask of Kawazu, an Oni with a Golden Hair Beard, circa 1700. A very rare early example with a powerful presence. 8 x 6.5 inches, 20.25 x 16.5 cm. Height with the beard is 19 inches (48.25 cm).
Japanese antique living room in Victorian style, circa 1880, possibly exhibited at a world's fair. It is a rare, fascinating creation set in a silk brocade fabric box, with inlaid shibiyama style mother of pearl teak furniture. There are many miniature works of art featured, including a wonderful Gosho Ningyo, two flower containers, an ivory book, a three panel iris screen, ivory bird in a cage, etc. All objects in perfect proportion. 10h x 15.5w x 6d inches, 25.5h x 39.25w x 15.25d cm.
The gently domed top of this incense box is decorated with a traditional painting of crane diving for fish over sea rock. The sides of the box lid have scalloped indents to allow for easy opening. Box is 5+ inches x 3+ inches X2 inches high.

This dish is painted in the “wu cai” manner with overglaze enamels combined with underglaze cobalt blue. The interior base has a design of flowers and rockwork surrounded by petal lappets around the well of the dish. Each petal contains an enameled flower decoration. The back of the dish is glazed white with no decoration but the petal lappets from the interior stand out in low relief on the back...
Influenced by the Chinese Transitional porcelain this dish shows in the center a bridge with a farmer and two cows. On the back a single spur mark. Condition: fine, little wear, foot rim with a small loss (production flaw). Dimension: diameter: 21.3 cm, weight: 396 g. Without wooden stand.

Rare and slender Silver/Paktong Opium Pipe, QING Dynasty. The damper/bowl is in the shape of a poppy/opium bulb and is held by a hand.
