Interesting little lot of pre-columbian pottery antiquities, ca. 600-1200 AD.

Lot consists of a nicely engraved spindlewhorl, a cure and intact pottery bird whistle, a stone head and a scarce pottery mould for casting a head.

The head is ca. 7 cm. wide for comparison.

Amazing boro which used to be noragi (work wear). It is made of many fragments of vegetable indigo dye and hand^spun cotton cloth. It is from cold areas such as Tohoku or Japan Sea Side where cotton could not be cultivated and cotton cloth for kimono was expensive so that people bought fragments which were brought from warm areas such as Shikoku , Kandsai or Chubu districts. Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty 19th century Han Chinese woman's robe, blue silk damask with embroidered collar and trims; 5 toggle-loop buttons. The robe is in great condition, no fray or wear. A wonderful, larger Chinese pottery figure of a female attendant. The figure dates to Ming Dynasty 1368-1644 AD.
