Small statue of Ambika, with a tiny Jina sitting above her head, wearing a dhoti, standing on a pedestal backed by a large nicely adorned mandorla. Ambika holds a child in her left arm, and what seems to be a weapon in her right hand. The deity is flanked by her vahana animal, a lion, on her lower left side, and by another child standing on her lower right side. Bronze, with nice dark reddish-green patina. India, 16th century. A very thinly potted small blue and white Ming dynasty saucer. It is so thinly potted that if held against the light, we can see through it. The centre of the saucer has a flower that looks like a lotus pod in a double circle. The porcelain is slightly grayish in colour. It has the Cheng Hua (1465-1487) six character mark and of the period.
There are minor firing faults with frittings and chips along the rim and base. No hair line crack...
Beautiful “Cizhou” type black storage jug with lugs probably used for preserved vegetables, circa Ming Dynasty. A very attractive piece with lovely contrasting black and russet glazes, and paraffin patina throughout. Good example what would have been used in an ancient Chinese kitchen. Perfect condition, except for one very small glaze chip inside the mouthrim, noted in last enragement. H: 18.5cm/7.2in and D: 18cm/7.1in.

Straight, flame-shaped blade, on a side a strong raiser worked with woven chiselling, the tip shaped as an arrow. The quillon as bat wings, with hollow faces engraved with racemes. Bone grip, flat on a side and convex on the other, decorated with engraved effigy of soldiers and flowers within frames, iron cap. Scabbard of bone sectors engraved with floral motifs, with grotesque figures, at the front the high-relieved effigy of a soldier in his armour...
Decorated with shou character in the center and abstract decoration on the outside. W=10 cm. Early Ming 1368-1398. Condition : a tiny fritting and imperfection of glaze, no cracks, hairline or restoration.

Lovely fine Chinese bronze mirror, scalloped edge with raised designs of stylized dragons chasing flaming pearls, central raised loop for attachment, an old silk tassle attached, the mirror side with pitting and varied color, including a deep rust red.
Measures 3 3/8" diameter.
Mirror has dark patina with verdigris, red/brown tones, mineral deposits, the mirror side has little shine remaining.
