This is Japanese Indigo dye shibori Baby boro kimono meiji(1868-1912). Baby's indigo dye shibori kimono is rare. Textile seems to be hand spun and woven. It is thick indigo dye cotton. There are a stain and little damage. It is warm very cotton of touch. The lining is also very charming. size:62cm x 65cm (24.4" x 25.6")

Antique uchishiki, Japanese alter cloth, embroidered on silk satin with Chinese theme, “The Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove”. Probably from late 18th to mid 19th century. 26 3/8" x 25" (67cm x 63 1/2cm).

Condition: This is a beautiful antique textile even with some obvious damage and wear, still solid with a thick cotton backing. The wear is seen particularly on both ends of the design. This quality of needle work is seldom seen.

Early Meiji Era Soba Choko with landscape design painted in underglaze cobalt blue on porcelain. Average height of 6cm and average diameter of 7 cm. Though widely attributed to Arita kilns; by the late Edo and Early Meiji Periods, porcelain soba choko were also being made in Seto, as well as at kilns further north in Tohoku. This set of 5 features a typical land/seascape scene of a hut and the sea with a boat and birds flying overhead. All cups are in good condition featuring the same pattern.

This finely crafted Japanese yakkan (copper teapot) shows the kind of beautiful patina that can only be achieved with time and careful used and looks to date from the Meiji period of the late 1800s.

The brilliant rich auburn color of this type of metalwork is achieved by adding smoked straw during the firing process and often deepens in character over time...

Very unusually embroidered with white silk thread made for a civilian official of first to third rank, the square showing a a pair of white cranes above foaming stylized wave and rock work below clouds, worked in shades of green, white and red on blue silk ground. It’s in very fine condition, it measures 22cm x20cm, (8 5/8” x 7 7/8”)...

A piece of Narumi-Kongata (also called Urumi-zome) cloth which is hand-spun cotton and dyed with vegetable indigo. Narumi-Kongata is one kind of katazome (stencil-resist-dye) imitating shibori. It had been produced from late Edo to Meiji period but not produced anymore. It has auspicious shrimp motif with intricate pattern which requires high dye and stencil making technique. This is a really nicely painted antique Japanese Arita porcelain covered bowl, sometimes called a chawan, dating to the Meiji era, circa 1870s-90s. It measures about 13.2 cm across the lid, and about 8.5 cm high including the lid. It is entirely hand painted, with garden scenes and a pair of plovers. The mark on the inside of the foot of the lid is a kakutomi mark, associated with one or more of the kilns of the Meiji era...

A rare Qing Dynasty Chinese porcelain Buddhist stupa, superbly modeled and enameled with multi-toned flowers and scrolling leaves, a chain of Buddhist lion masks and gold gilt accented jeweled motif on a pink ground. The long, graduated 13-tiered conical spire, symbolic of the of the 13 stages of enlightenment, is decorated with thin floral bands. The Buddhist umbrella is topped with a blue and white glazed canopy on which sits a green treasure vase with red ribbons...

The two Chinese bamboo root carvings are about 12 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 4 inches thick. They came as a pair but can be displayed separately. They were carved in the late 19th century. Both depict wild geese. Their heads are turned toward a lotus and some unknown plants are behind them. The taller of the two is a little darker. Beside some small cracks and chips they are in fairly good condition.
