A very unusual 19th century late Qing temple vase, sumptuously decorated in the blue and white, doucai, famille noire, and famille verte palettes...

A very large and impressive, perfectly potted and brilliantly enamelled famille verte plate. The back site of the plate with a channel foot-rim. Nineteenth century or earlier. Provenance : Old south German collection. Diameter : 45,6 cm. Condition : Perfect.

Antique Japanese Sword or tachi with a black lacquered saya, fuchi kashira decorated with motifs of bamboo leaves (sasa), and an iron tsuba. The sword contains a signature which reads: Seki-za, Yoshida Kenkichi.

Age: Late 18th century.

19th Century (Tall) Japanese Boxwood Netsuke: Mythical Animal This is a rather rare representation of a Soken Kisho inspired Mythical Animal, that was carved by an anonymous artisan during the 19th century in Japan. It has a Dragon shaped body with delineated scales, a sprouting unicorn, and a long curled and wavy tail. It is made of light wood, possibly cypress wood, and is covered with a reddish-brown lacquer. On its right side it is inscribed with archaic characters...

A large very decorative, lobed Daoguang period bowl, brightly enamelled in famille-rose with a floral decoration and with Chinese “ Shou “- characters ( longevity ) Daoguang period ( 1821 – 1850 ) with a iron red Hall-Mark to the base of the bowl. Diameter : 17,3 cm. Condition : Perfect.

Very well potted porcelain vase with a nice Ge crackled glaze ( Geyao ). Qing Dynasty, nineteenth century or earlier. H : 19,6 cm. Condition : Perfect Provenance : Old German collection

A late Edo iron tsuba with chisled decoration of a pine trunk and boughs on one side and flowering prunus blossom with bamboo on the other side. The three representations comprising the "Three Friends of Winter". The simplicity of the chiseled smooth surface successfully imitating sumi-e painting. Good condition - presenting more nicely than in the lighting used for our photography. Emits a clear tone when tapped. A pleasing piece that would add character to a prospective blade...

This pair of Guang Xu Period (1875~1908) Guan Yao ¡°Imperial Kiln¡± fruit stands are 2 ¾ inches tall and 9 ¼ inches in diameter. They depict black and white sparrow and flowers on a turquoise background. They have three separate floral designs on the back of the stands and a black lace like design on the foot. There are a few tiny chips on the rims and the color has slightly rubbed off. Four old repairs close to the rim two on each stand.

Antique Japanese iron tsuba. Used as a sword fitting where the blade meets the handle. Designed to protect the hands of the Warrior. Unusual three dimensional rippling wave/cloud patterns. Hand forged to look like natural wood graining. Includes padded storage box. Edo period (1615-1868) Size: 3.25" x 3"

Antique Japanese full length tanegashima rifle with working original matchlock mechanism. Made of burl keyaki hardwood with original lacquer finish. The hand forged iron barrel is inlaid with a 3/4 length silver dragon swirling through clouds. Original decorative brass fittings with auspicious animals such as fu-dogs, birds and flowers. Unusual silver inlaid stripes on the mouth of the barrel.

A gun powder container (kayaku-ire) made of twisted paper string and urushi (lacquer) is painted. It is very sturdy and light-weight so that it was made to many living wares such as a bowl, a sake cup, jingasa (hat), tobacco pouch, trunk, etc. from Edo period. In excellent condition with a deer skin pouch. 19th century. W:7cm H:16.5cm

Antique Japanese tanegashima short rifle (gun) with working original matchlock mechanism. Not original barrel, this one has been replaced with a shorter forged barrel onto the rifle wood stock.
Made of hardwood with lacquer finish. Silver inlay on the iron barrel includes an rare arrow motif. Elaborate brass work includes little florets and frolicking fu-dogs. Comes with custom iron stand to aid in display...

Height approximately 19 cm. There is a chip at the base, repaired.

A small antique Japanese iron tsuba decorated with motifs of cherry blossoms blown in the wind. The tsuba is decorated in a way where on one side is a branch of the cherry blossoms and the other side is the flowers scattered on the ground. The flowers are done in a shakudo style technique. Size: Diameter 2.75" Height 0.2"

Qing Dynasty. H : 8 cm. Condition : Perfect

An Edo period coat (haubergeon) and “kote” (mitons) of linked chain over layers of indigo dyed blue cloth decorated with family crests in gold. The chain, Kikko collar, outer layers of cloth and leather piping are all in overall excellent condition, the original pale blue lining is much worn away. This is made for an adult.
In Japan, mail is called kusari which means chain...
