This fine old mask would have been used in the same family for several generations to perform rituals such as those for a newborn baby and maturation. this antique pair of lotus embroidered lotus shoes are most likely from northern china. the vamp is a quilted cotton fabric. Each shoe is embroidered with the same floral design on both sides. The shoes were used and show some soiling on the vamp and the soles are slightly worn and dirty.
A small teapot and lid, Kangxi period, c 1700. Painted - clobbered - probably in Holland for the European market, in iron red, green, pink, black and gilt over the original under-glaze blue decoration. The base with a pseudo-Chinese seal mark in iron red. Height, including lid "4 1/2/ 11 cm. Condition: repair to the lid (cf. photos), otherwise fine.

Japanese narrow hanging scroll done in literati style with a mountainous retreat in autumn season, 3 red seals and signed by the artist, Senda Hanko. Meiji Period. Size: Length 55" Width: 10.1" with ends, 17.3". Good condition. Recent artist show at Aichi Prefectural Museum in a special exhibition.
