Circa 1470-1532 AD pre-Columbian Inca ritual offering vessel Conopa in the shape of a Llama. Hand carved from a fine brown grained stone, then polished with sand and water, with a hole in its back called a "qocha" (lagoon) the container for offerings during the ceremony "haywarisqa" (ceremony of offerings). Llama fat and blood mixed with coca leaves were presented to the gods.

A fantastic and very rare massive ritual spearpoint in black obsidian, Pre-Columbian or early colonial Mexico, likely Aztec manifacture, 14th.-16th. century.

The spearpoint made of one full flaking block of obsidian, with central unknapped areas to use its full size.

Size: 48 cm. long and weighing c. 2,2 kilograms!

A blue-green carved jade example depicting a standing dwarf figure holding his arms to his sides and his hands over his large stomach. Oval vessel with bow handle between spout and perforated animal head, Vicús, ca. 100 - 500 AD.

Fine condition vessel from the rather illusive Vicus culture contemporary with the more well-known Moche culture. The vessel misses a very small pseudy lug handle at one side, othervise completely intact and unrepaired with some light weathering at edge of the spout.

A beautiful and scarce larger pottery jar from the Chancay culture, globular shape with applied handles in both sides and tiny animals on both sides as well. The pottery greyish white with black line decoration.

Lot conisists of two large celts or axes, a drop-shape piece in grey stone, lightly rough and a triangular axe in green stone, finely polished, 1st. millenium BC.

Mexican Pre Columbian Tlatilco Terracotta grotesque head. Rare fragment from an early culture c 1200bc-600bc. Tlatilco is noted in particular for its high quality pottery pieces, many featuring Olmec iconography. Tlatilco figures were known for their elaborate hair styles. This head is quite unique depicting a grotesque face . Size 1.5" by 1.25"

This unique Olmec maskette is made from Guatemalan Imperial Green Jadeite and Imperial Blue Jadeite. It is an Omphacite/chloromelanite jade which "GemSelect" describes as the rarest and most valuable type of jade. Leoncio A. Garza-Valdes in the book "Precolumbian Jade" states "Omphacites are known as mesoamerican imperial jades". It probably contains inclusions of precious metals of silver, gold, and platinum. These metals can be seen in the pictures as spots or flecks...

This is a Mayan Jade sitting cross-legged pregnant woman. Depictions of women are rare. Pregnant women are even rarer. She is wearing a coiled snake headdress. Snakes are a powerful symbol among the Maya. In their primal form, snakes represent the surge of life force that brings all things on earth into manifestation. It is 3" tall. Excellent patina. No damage. It was found in Guatemala and dates to 250-600AD. I purchased it in 1991 from dealer Michael Robbins.
