A large and impressive key of the c. 15th. century design with an oval bow and a tappering stem. The wide bit with a flat design. Very attractive!

Condition: About extremely fine, completely intact with superficial dark iron patina and extremely fine metal beneath.

A nice set of three larger ancient bronzes for clothing. A darkage fibula, Eastern Goths or Saxon, c. 5th-6th. century AD. A northern European clasp for a coat, Viking Period, 8th-10th cent and a later medieval beltstrap.

Interesting huge seal from the Oberländer collection. It was described as unidentified and probably ceramic, but to us it looks like Limestone, but we're not certain. At first glance it looks like a Pre-Columbian seal, but details doesn't compute and there were no Pre-Columbian seals in the collection, so it could be from Mesopotamia / Western Asia, we're not certain.
It's sold as guaranteed ancient and 800+ years old.

The Ghaznavid dynasty originated from Turkic slave-guards and lasted from 977 to 1186 AD. At their greatest extent the Ghaznavids controlled large parts of Iran, Afghanistan, much of Transoxiana and the northwest of the Indian subcontinent.

An nice larger mirror in bronze, Islamic, 10th.-12th. century AD.
The islamic bronze mirrors were typically made in the Chinese style of the Han Period with added islamic elements. This mirror is large and with a recessed face and undecorated back. Small loss to the handle.

A massive bowl, likely a food bowl for really large parties. The interior of the bowl is almost completely covered with fine azurite patina and when cleaned would reveal the fine design of incised circles-dots (bulls-eye) and perhaps hexacons as well; the exterior is cleaned and plain.

The lion stands erect on 4 legs and incised details of the mane and head. A particularly charming specimen with finely made features of the head of the Lion, heavy body and seperate legs. Would have been quite expensive in the medieval period with it's high weight of solid bronze and nice workmanship.

This piece is part of a collection we are posting on the site. These are often misidentified as crossbow arrow ends. However, to our knowledge no such items have ever been found associated with crossbow bolts. These particular pieces went over the ends of the wooden ribs in large parasols. The protruding hooks put tension on the strings or straps that were attached to the skin of the parasol. A huge tile with fine style floral decoration in blue and white. Unfortunately missing a bit and put together from three large pieces. The tile is measuring 26,5 cm. x 26 cm. so each of the pieces is basically as large as most tiles are!

From sung dynasty with repaired rim
This extremely rare frame of bone is from the 1st century through Byzantine. The Roman goddess has independent movable balls in the cage and is extremely delicate and very fine. It was purchased in Luxembourg. Many were found by the world famous Dr. Allen Heflin while he was stationed in Rome. This is a once-in-a-lifetime find that took me many years to assemble. An exceptional earthenware bowl with incised decoration in a white slip and painted in green and manganese in a yellowish glaze (Bamiyan type), afghanistan, 12th. century (Pre 1221 A.D.).
With carinated walls, pseudo-caligraphy and symethric decorations in high relief. As typical for the most boldest specimens, the green colours are sort of splashed on.
