This is an exciting little repousse plaque or pendant found in the city of Gilgit. The city of Gilgit was an important hub along the silk road. The image and decor of the piece appears to be Gandharan but as I am not an expert on that particular culture I could be mistaken in my attribution. This piece measures roughly 2 cm square. It is a magnificent piece for any collection of ancient art or jewelry. Please email if you need any further information or photographs.
