Chinese Scholar's Hat Chair, Jumu, elmwood with translucent red lacquer, late 18th century early 19th century. Size: 21.5W 17D 38H, surface wear to finish and exposed wood.

A nice lacquer screen mirror used by Scholars in their work tables. The mirror is surrounded by the usual key fret design while the base is carved with the auspicious melon, peony and peach, representing longevity and prosperity. The mirror looks like it is the original mirror. Size: H. 62.5cm. W. at the base, 41.5cm. Condition: No repairs. Normal wear and some age cracks.

Large Chinese basket, tall stacking carrying basket, made of bamboo with iron handle, three compartments, outfitted with removable glass top so that it may be used as an end table or stand, the basket has a large character on the top and woven patterns on all sides, the tiered basket sits in a large bamboo frame with handle, Republic Period. Size: 37" high total (30 1/4" high to top of stand) x 18 1/2" wide x 18 1/2" deep.

Antique Chinese pair of tall, square stands. Made of jumu (elm) wood with natural finish and strong grain. Each stand has a drawer that is hidden when closed. The bottom portion has an open lattice shelf with a cracked ice pattern.

Chinese antique long low table made all of hardwood. One side has three drawers carved with swirling clouds and chimera. Republic Period. Size: 16" high x 54" long x 20" deep.

An antique Chinese long table carved with motif of scrolling clouds and a type of fungus knowns as Lingzhi, an auspicious motif and an actual fungus used in Chinese medicine. The table overall has an appearance possibly done in the taste of a literati scholar. Age: 20th century Size: length 65.5" width 26.5" height 36"

Large Chinese Ju-Mu hardwood cabinet/wardrobe with a beautiful, distinct grain and warm glowing finish. The two front doors lock and pull open with round brass hardware. Exquisite Chinese Huanghuali alter tables. Gorgeous grain with "eyes" seen in the hardwood. Finely carved all throughout with round Jade wrapped in the wood apron. Overall perfect condition with a wonderful color to the wood.

Chinese Elmwood small square shape table, late 19th c., 11" high, 12 1/2" square on top, with pegged round straight legs. There is a narrow piece of wood wedged between original Elmwood top and the uneven finish which is original, it is a solid table, shows some wears, original wood color top.

Chinese Huanghuali altar table, with distinctive, natural "ghost eye" grain, carved with gourd, Buddha's hand citron, peach, and scrolls motifs, recessed scroll legs with star motif, Early Republic period.

Altar table from the 19th century mad of ju-mu (elm) wood. Beautifully carved registers adorn the altar. They are carved with bats, deer, fish, and flowers. The drawers have round handles. The cabinet opens into a space with a shelf. It measures 72" wide, 35 tall, 20" deep.

A set of four vary rare blackwood Hungmu lady's side chairs. The chairs match as a pair except for the back panels. Two have a square and two have a circle. This most likely had some meaning for the owner. Age: Mid Qing. Size: H:94cm. W:48cm. Condition: No repairs. Some looseness from age. can be fixed very easily.

Antique Chinese hardwood folding chair decorated with beautifully incised metal accents. The chair has a leather string that laces through the bottom legs to secure the chair open or closed. It measures 44" tall (folded), 20.5" at widest.

Fine Chinese antique hardwood corner chair, inlaid with mother of pearl with designs of flowers and flower baskets with birds and dragons. Beautifully carved, curved arms. Age: Republic Period (c1910). Size: 27.5"w x 33.5"h x 17.78" seat height.

Chinese late Qing to Republic period camphor wood trunk densely carved with relief lotus flowers. Incised brass circular front lock plate. Circa 1900 to early 20th century. 31" long x 14" wide x 13" high. Very good, solid overall condition. There is a small separation in the wood at one of the front edges and a minor loss at one back corner revealing the tip of a tiny old nail (see closeup images)...
