An unusual bone handle dagger decorated with a turquoise stone and silver a copper fittings. The sheath is made of silver with a woven silver chain attached to the knife. There is piece of "stingray skin" wrapped around the middle. There is one turquoise stone decorating the sheath with two red (resin) stones that originally were red coral.The blade is made of steel. A Tibetan bronze flaying knife or chopper with a curved steel blade used in rituals by Buddhist Vajrayana priests. The flayer was a symbolic instrument and never used to really chop or flay people. Hence, the blade is dull. The blade has oxidized on both sides and there is some verdigris inside the top of the handle. Measures 6.75 inches x 7" high. Dates 1800's.

Chinese silver box, decorated with dragon and phoenix design in high relief and a jade stone mounted between them, a band of floral design in relief surrounding the base, late 19th/ early 20th century period. 19th C bronze Chinese vase featuring elegant lines and a beautiful warm patina. Condition is very good with some surface micro abrasions, interior with scattered dots of patination (see last photo), all of which are consistent with age. Circa 1860-1880. A Chinese silver shield-shaped presentation plaque engraved with good wishes, mounted to conforming hardwood shield carved at crest with stylized flower and with easel support on the back. Silver plaque with indistinct mark. Condition: good, minimally dented at the edges. Dimension: 27.8 cm x 20. 6 cm, weight: 716 g.

Antique late Qing Dynasty Chinese cast bronze and hand-chiseled tripod incense burner censer, in the form of the Lotus flower. The sides are applied with twin Lotus blooms as the strap handles.

The censer base is bearing a seal mark in very unusual apocryphal spindly style of” Shuowen Jiezi “Script within a rectangular cartouche.

This two-part buckle is formed with a dragon head clasp on one piece, and the other is slotted for hooking under the dragon's head. Each has a central medallion cast in low relief of a double gourd “magic elixir” bottle. Both pieces are finished with a stylized bat motif. The underside of each has two attached pieces to receive the belt. Much gilding remains on the fronts, though worn. The reverse of each is ungilded and has old natural patina from use...

A fine gilt bronze appliques, possibly belt or harness fittings, of square shape, with well cast relief decoration of a reclining animal. China, Liao Dynasty (916-1125). Height:2.3 cm. Very good condition.

Description:

A bronze censer's cap was well cast and was exquisitely carved with beautiful motifs.
On top there's a lion's head with bulging eyes, fiercing fangs and well defined hairs.
At the lower portion, the spiral clouds were above the sea waves.

Under the cap, the molding clay was still reserved for verifying.

It was a fine piece for verifying the excellency of the ancient metal work. The golden metal sheen was an evidence for its fine quality too...

A quite tall lantern-shaped opium lamp with openwork decoration of birds, bats, floral motifs and auspicious characters. Condition: glass is missing, top is slightly bent, some polishing residue. Dimension: 17.8 cm high.

Early 19th century Chinese pewter covered tea caddy of round section with brass inlays of 3 bats with outstretched wings around its body and a SHOW (long life) character on top of the cover.
