The carved circular Jade Disks rest on carved wood stands. Each carved jade disk measures 12 inches.

The box is 3.5 inches (8.8 cm) tall by 3.9 inches (10 cm) long and 5.35 inches (13.6 cm) wide. The jade is 3 inches (7.5 cm) long by 2.15 inches (5.6 cm) wide. It is 2.1 lb.

This two-part buckle is formed with a dragon head clasp on one piece, and the other is slotted for hooking under the dragon's head. Each has a central medallion cast in low relief of a double gourd “magic elixir” bottle. Both pieces are finished with a stylized bat motif. The underside of each has two attached pieces to receive the belt. Much gilding remains on the fronts, though worn. The reverse of each is ungilded and has old natural patina from use...

A root wood mountain was in nice looking.
By natural shape, the root wood was touched with the least manual work.
Nevertheless, it was represented in favoured scholar taste.
Darken patina was yielded in some areas due to age when some portion of the wood was in a quality that in original lighter tint.

Early 19c Chinese scholar’s carved rosewood double dragon brush rest. The dragons have wonderful facial features with turned up snouts. There is a round knob on the top between the two facing dragons to turn it easily. The bodies, feet and curling tails are wonderful. Workmanship and quality is superb, showing early original patina to the surfaces. The color is a rich reddish brown with all the shiny areas right where they should be from handling...
