This is a rare Yabu Meizan Censer. It is not decorated with gold details and painting but is still an attractive item with its deep plumb glaze color. The first image is how it appears under normal lighting. It probably does not have the original cover but this silver one is more functional than the ivory covers we have seen. The silver lids fit perfect.

This is a very fine and unusual Japanese Satsuma vase with relief figures. The work on this piece is highly detailed and the gold thickly applied. The Dragon and clouds are decorated with silver. The piece is in very good condition will minor wear. The Artist signature is the most worn area on the piece. With magnification it can be seen that it is signed Fuzan but it is very hard to make out. I have included a similar Fuzan mark for comparison. The vase stands 8 1/2 inches tall.

Elegantly decorated vase with a geometric design of 24 facets. Meiji period, late 19th century. Sparsely painted with airy flower sprigs, leaving large parts of the cream-coloured crackle-glazed surface undecorated. The mouth rim with the mon (emblem) of the Itagaki (?) family. This is a fine Japanese Satsuma sake pot or small teapot. It is signed by Kinkozan. Still retains part of the original Kinkozan sticker on the underside of the lid. Which means this piece was never used as a saki or teapot. It measures 4 1/2 inches across at the spout. The handle is slightly tattered but the pot is in excellent condition.

Antique Japanese ceramic figure of the moon faced Otafuku. Her name was once Uzume and evolved into Okame which means "tortoise", a symbol of longevity. A small but highly detailed Satsuma vase decorated with Sino-Japanese motifs. On one side of the vase is literati scholars enjoying a conversation bordered with a detailed geometric pattern. This is a beautiful Japanese satsuma bowl from satsuma master Yabu Meizan. The minute detail and workmanship are spectacular. The Detail in hand is finer and more impressive than what is shown in these blown up images. It displays very well but unfortunately the bowl was broken and repaired. The price for this bowl is a fraction of the price an unresstored Yabu bowl would bring...

This is a KYOTO SATSUMA EARTHENWARE MUG or Large Cup. Found via a Southern States buying excursion this mug is 4 3/8" tall and is 5 3/8" across outside edge of handle to outside edge of the mug. Circa 1875 to 1900 note the Beautiful PEACOCK and the Floral decorations. Gilded Mark on a rust background. The Condition is EXCELLENT

19th century Japanese Satsuma belt buckle decorated with birds among blooming chrysanthemums and a raised bamboo garden aqueduct with water running along it. Excellent quality painting, numerous colors and gold enamels, in excellent condition. Metal backs are stamped with a single character GIN (silver). Size assembled 3.05 x 2.22 inches.

A fine 11" x 8" Satsuma model of an official seated in a wood grained horse shoe style chair, clothed in finely painted robes and trousers and holding a feather fan. Excellent detail and fine crackle finish. Ex-Sotheby's New York.

Condition: Good. There is an old chip to the nose, a broken fingertip on the hand holding the fan, and an old repair to the back and one side of the base.

We like to present you today an early Edo Period Karatsu Yaki Guinomi (Sake cup) with aesthetic silver repair (kintsugi) made around 1700.

The Guinomi has a hira-gata shape, refering to the Kamakura Period. Fantastic item!

Important and rare bowl, large in size, scalloped in shape, with a small heel, from the Satsuma kilns. On a blue enamel background, the decoration represents cherry blossoms with a couple of peacocks among peonies inside. The whole is of a very good quality of gold and polychrome enamels. Meiji period (1868-1912). Signed Koshida. Diameter 18,5 cm height : 7 cm.
