Antique Japanese large cloisonne vase decorated with a blossoming white hydrangea. Detailed flower petals with pale blue gradated centers and large leaves are rendered with great naturalism and contrast dramatically with a very smooth rose/taupe background. A band just below the mouth of the vase is decorated with a tiny, subtle leaf motif. Silver wire used throughout.

Very sweet little circular cloisonne box with a pale yellow ground. The foot is exposed copper. The interior of both the lid and base is a mottled dark green. Some expected pitting to the enamel. In excellent antique condition, no dents, no chips, no cracks, it measures 2.25 inches in diameter. Circa 1800

This is a very rare and wonderful Japanese Cloisonne box. There are a wide variety of enamel colors and designs making this a very unique piece. The designs, mottled and translucent enamel colors strongly suggest that Honda is the artist. The rims are also Bronze and appear to have never been silver plated. Condition is excellent. There is minor scuffing to the bottom corners. The box measures 5 1/4 inches by 4 1/4 inches and is 2 1/4 tall

This is a very unusual Japanese Cloisonne vase that looks more like a porcelain blue and white vase. The vase has a mix of silver wire and wireless enamel work. The vase is heavy and has a nice glossy sheen. The rims have an unusual dark chocolate patina to them. It stands 9 5/8 inches tall and is 6 1/2 inches wide. Overall condition is very good but there are two short lines in the narrow white area just above the scroll on the base.

This is a very beautiful and stylish Japanese Cloisonne vase. It looks like it could have been made a piece made by Kawaguchi Bunzaeoman but it is signed with a tiny script by Ota. It was primarily created in the basse-taille style with traditional cloisonne then used with the flowers and leaves. The vase is heavy for its size and the enamel is thickly applied. This is a great old satsuma piece from the Meiji era. The detail on this vase is amazing. Especially so, is the side with all the separate scenes in the 21 cartouches. Condition is excellent and the piece is almost like new. The vase stands 4 5/8 tall and is just under 4 inches wide.

This is a beautiful large Cloisonne vase from Japan. Besides the wire and wireless designs in the bamboo and rooster, the color of the ground color changes from top down to the bottom. The vase stands 12 inches tall and is not quite 6 inches wide. It has on minor flaw that could be factory and it is shown in the last image. It is an odd short line, that is difficult to see in the enamel under the bamboo leaves. A great piece that was probably made by Gonda or Ando.

This is a fine cloisonne enamel vase from the Meiji Period. Though more simplistic than many of his pieces, We believe this was vase made by Hayashi. I There are plenty of image and viewer can make up their own mind. The birds are well done and each is designed with gold wires. The difficult scroll under the top rim is also similar to Hayashi's work. The vase stands 6 inches tall and condition is excellent.

This is a fine early Japanese cloisonne vase with an unusual reddish brown ground color. This vase has a lot of fine work and detail. It is actually better in person because it is only 4 3/4 tall and the details in the images have been enlarged. It is not signed and is in excellent condition.

This is a special piece of Meiji Era Cloisonne Art. The jar is covered with colorful butterflies flying against a very dark blue/black enamel background. The jar measures 4 1/4 tall by 3 5/8 inches wide. Condition is outstanding but not perfect due to a very tiny blemish. The blemish can be seen in the first image next to the flash reflection.

This is a beautiful rare Japanese Cloisonne tray. If it were not signed, many would attribute this fine piece to the workshop of Namikawa Sosuke. The workmanship on this piece exceeds that of many other cloisonne trays to be seen with roosters or chickens. The tray measure just under 11 by 11 inches. Condition is very good but there is a slight indent on the rim with a minor bit of crazing at this spot on the reverse side. To view see the last 2 images.

This is a rare and attractive example of Japanese Golden Age Cloisonne. The colors are bright and the design is very desirable. It is a unique piece that was probably made in the mid 1890's. The tray is heavy and measures 12 3/4 inches by 8 inches. All in all condition is very good and it displays wonderfully. If you look close, there is a short craze and slight bend in the outer rim (see image). There is some roughness on the bottom is from the firing process.

The is a small stoutly made cloisonne teapot.The piece shows better and the enamels are more glossy than what is see here in the close-up enlarged images. The condition is good but there is some enamel damage on the lid that can be seen in the images and the bronze rim of the pot is flattened a bit. The piece is 3 1/2 inches tall and about 4 inches across at the spout. Like many of Namikawa Yasuyuki pieces. the ground color is black.

An elegantly hand-crafted cloisonne obidome of a double-gourd form. The burgundy-colored glass enamelling of the gourd is thickly applied and translucent. The cobalt blue "rope" around gourd has pure gold highlights. Can be used as a pendant. Size: L. 5cm. W. 3cm. Condition: No repairs.

This is a wonderful Meiji Era or Japanese golden age cloisonne box. The designs and form on this piece are very attractive and quite rare. Even the bottom has the fan shaped decorative designs. This box is in excellent condition but not perfect because the bottom enamel edges show some table wear. The box measures 4 3/4 inches by 4 inches and is2 1/4 inches tall. It is not signed.

This is a large and exquisite antique Japanese cloisonné-enamel and embossed-foil (ginbari) Akasuke (Pigeon Blood) footed bowl with a lid and silvered mounts. The bowl's body is covered with red ginbari featuring a bamboo pattern, while the lid is decorated with fine details of pink and white roses and green leaves on a translucent deep red ginbari ground with the same bamboo pattern...

This is a very fine small Japanese cloisonne vase done in the style of early Namikawa cloisonne pieces. This vase like Namikawa works has butterflies, high sheen mottled enamels and gilt wires. Even so we believe it was probably made by Honda. This heavy piece stands 4 3/4 inches and the condition is nearly mint.

Japanese early 20th century cloisonne vase by the Tamura Cloisonne Company. The blue colored vase has a large and beautiful yellow rose blossom. the silver toned metal rims appear to be chrome. The vase measures 9 7/8" tall and 6" in diameter. The vase comes with TOMOBAKO, the original artist signed wooden storage box.

This is a rare example of an early pigeon blood cloisonne vase. It's also quite an attractive old piece. There is no embossed red translucent background like the common pieces but there is substantial amounts of silver wire and enamel work. The vase is also a unique wide shape being 7 1/4 tall and 4 1/2 inches wide. The rims are silver and unmarked. Condition is excellent with a small bit of discoloration in the translucent red enamel. This is shown in the images.

This is a beautiful Japanese cloisonne vase. Though not signed, the workmanship and colors clearly speaks Hayashi Kodenji made this. This same opinion is held by North America's leading cloisonne collector. The vase stands 7 1/4 inches tall. It appears perfect but there is a virtually invisible repair to the midnight blue enamel edge shown in the last image.

This is a wonderful bright and colorful wireless cloisonne vase from Kumeno. The vase actually looks more like porcelain than cloisonne enamel. It has a pleasing stout form and is in excellent overall condition with some rim oxidation/wear. It stands 6 inches tall and is 5 inches wide.

This is a very fine early Japanese plique-a-jour bowl. The bowl measures 4 3/8 inches across and stands 2 1/4 inches tall. The bowl has two short lines in the yellow/red mums on the side that are hard to see. Look for them in the images. They can not be felt with a fingernail and are probably not all the way through. It is mounted with silver rims.

This is a very fine Japanese cloisonne saki pot done with the gilded wires. The condition of the gold is exceptional for this style of cloisonne. There is a very slight dent on the metal edge of the handle that can be seen best in the 5th image. The pot measures 4 inches across and has a slight bluish green counter enamel.

This is an extremely rare Japanese cloisonne enamel. It appears to be an early Ando piece. I say this because of the form used and the enamel technique used on this vase. Antique Japanese cloisonne jewelry/treasure box, made from bronze, with deep navy blue sides decorated with gold cloud shapes. The lid has a beautiful cloisonne landscape with overhanging cherry blossoms on tree branches, a tower and building with blue roofing, and a red bridge crossing over a running river. The inside of the box is inscribed "Kyoto" and has the mark of artist Inaba Nanaho of The Inaba Cloisonne Company, established in 1887. Size: 1.75" height, 3.75" width

This is a very fine and attractive Mt Fuji wireless cloisonne box. It actually looks very similar to a Mt Fuji Sosuke tray we once had. It is not signed butthe artist is most likely Ando or Gonda. The Box measures 5 1/4 by 4 inches and s 2 3/8 inches tall. The box is beautiful and perfect except for some odd tool marks on the inner rim of the lid.

This is a wonderful cabinet vase by Gonda. This vase is not signed but Gonda was the master of this style of cloisonne. These wireless iris vases are not only highly desirable, but are also not easy to come by. The vase measures 3 3/4 inches tall. Condition is excellent.

A Japanese "arrow toss" game vase made of copper and decorated with polychrome enamels, the rims and wires are gilt. Showing antiques and auspicious symbols on a white ground, the base with "fuku" mark. The "arrow-toss" game originated from China and was at the beginning very popular with the aristocrats and survived as a pastime well into the Edo period. From an old Swiss private collection. This small Japanese case was most likely used for eyeglasses by a wealthy woman. The fine cloisonne work on both sides has slightly differed medallion patterns. Bird one one side butterfly on the other...There is s small sing (with lose on the bird side towards the edge...and the ding goes through to the inside of the case...piece is priced considering the damage...

This is a great Japanese cloisonne bowl. We are quite confident the artist was Kumeno. The bowl while being very attractive does have some condition issues. There are lines and some slight enamel loss but it is still a dazzling display piece. The bowl measures 5 1/2 inches across and is 3 1/2 inches tall.

This Japanese tray is 12.5 inches wide and 7.25 inches tall...It is lovely ...Meiji period wireless cloisonne tray depicting birds and flowers in the central field with wide scalloped border picturing Phoenix bird at the top center, a lizard on the right and another bird on the left...really and exceptional piece...the front in in excellant condition. This is a well done and rather large Japanese Cloisonne Jar. It is done in the Kyoto style and decorated with three phoenix birds. The piece is stoutly made with thick rims and is quite heavy. The artist we are not sure but the mottled enamel used may point towards Honda. The piece is in excellent condition with just a tiny loss of enamel on the underside of the lid where the knob is attached. It stands 8 1/2 inches.
