Small cloisonné enamel vase, dragon and phoenix decor. Silver wires. Golden border. Japan Meiji period. H; 105mm. Good condition, slightly worn gilding. Artist's signature incised below.

This is a very fine Japanese cloisonne vase from the 1890's. The work is good enough to be Hayashi. The vase is rather large at 9 1/2 inches and loaded with fine detailing. It is not perfect and the price reflects this. At one time it was a lamp. The drill hole was nicely filled but there are several craze lines around the vase. The rims appear to be silver or nickle. This is a beautiful rare piece of cloisonne.

This is a wonderful pair of early cloisonne vases. The rich enamels and designs used appear to be that of early Namikawa Sosuke. Each vase features a different roosters and a hens. The vases stand 13 inches tall. Condition overall is excellent. Upon close inspection a 1 inch line can bee seen along with two over sized pits.The owner would consider splitting up this pair.

A cloisonne plate decorated with motif of butterflies with a black with speckled gold base. The plate is thought to be done by the Honda school, one of the several artists that are part of the Owari Cloisonne (Owari Shippo) group. Age: Meiji period. Size: Height: 1' Diameter: 6.1"

An early 6" koro decorated in the 10,000 flower design against a pale grey blue ground, well executed and with minimal pitting. It is unfortunately missing a number of small red cloisons edging the upper rim.

The bottle is 2.45 inches (6 cm) tall, and 2 inches (5 cm) wide.

It is in good condition with no repairs, or chips, except very faint hairline cracks at the side (as seen in the photos).

This late 19th century Japanese hexagon cloisonn¨¦ vase is 7 ½ inches tall and 3 ¾ inches wide. It has various phoenix cartouches on a dark blue background. There is a small chip close to the bottom quarter.

Japanese cloisonné bottle form lidded vase on a Satsuma earthenware substrate with "kidney bean" cloisons decorated on the body with three cartouches (a five-petal flower, a kidney bean, and a fan) all filled with leafy flowers and set against a blue ground. Alternating triangle forms, each holding a single flower, encircle the shoulder and mouth. The neck holds scattered flowers on a tan ground. The lid is decorated with a flowers. Meiji period (circa 1870s)...

Chrysanthemums cascade gracefully down the mirror black ground of this 4.125" early Namikawa Yasuyuki cloisonne vase. Though unsigned, it is definitely the work of Namikawa.

Condition: Excellent, absolutely no repairs.

Japanese Meiji period cloisonné enamel lidded square form kashiki (confectionery box for tea ceremony sweets) with canted corners supported on four attached tapered and splayed legs. The lid is decorated with a variety of fans of varying shapes and designs set against a black ground; the sides are covered in a dense floral diaper pattern in blue, yellow, and brown; and the bottom is decorated in clusters of flowers and scrolling foliage set against a black background...

A brass wired green and brick red dragon writhes about the brown goldstone surface of this early Meiji 14" charger.

Condition: Good, with pitting usual to pieces of the period and a couple of slight nicks to the brass rim. No chips, hairlines or repairs.

Late 19th Century Japanese cloisonne bronze charger with a flock of flying cranes. Beautifully designed, it measures 12 inches in diameter. There are a few stress marks in the upper left side, please study last photograph where I have enlarged and highlighted the area through photoshop. It is not as evident in person. A fabulous Japanese cloisonne vase purchased from the 1893 Chicago Exhibition. Inside the vase is an old decaying leaflet given to the buyers by the exhibitors. On a fragment one of the massive vases displayed by Suzuki can be seen on this paper (See image). There is more to this faded image on the reverse buy it is hard to see. The vase is one of the well known vases with the eagle finial. Every one of the Suziki pieces was approved by the Emperor for this exhibition. This vase is special...
