Pair small Japanese blue and white porcelain dishes. Hawthorne style decoration of prunus branches in bloom. Verso with three prunus branches. Blue underglaze mark centered within the foot rim. Fair to decent condition with a few frit like flea bites to the glaze along the rims. No cracks and no hairlines. Diameter each about 7 1/8 inches (18.1 cm)

This is Japanese porcelain vase from one of the great Meiji artists. It is signed Kawamoto Hansuke. The vase has a wonderful stout shape and is very heavy. It has what appears to be several firing flaws or just an unusual design to several of the flowers. The vase measures 7 1/4 tall and is 7 1/2 inches wide.

Rare blue sharkskin porcelain tea caddy with a bird, flowers, and butterflies. The bird and butterflies are glossy and do not have the sharkskin texture giving this piece a beautiful contrast which was not an easy feat for the artist to achieve. The blue background graduates from light at the bottom to darker shade of light blue at the top. Signed and in excellent condition, it measures 6 inches tall with lid on.

A Hasami-yaki bowl of scalloped form bowl decorated with konnyaku stamped decoration of Chrysanthemum and leaves, and gobenka to the centre with Tako Karakusa decoration to the rim and a Karakusa arabesque to the reverse and a stylised Fuku mark to the base. The bowl is a good and relatively early example of the style of ware made at Nagasaki under the Owara clan for the mass market. The dish dates to the mid Edo era and the mid 18th century...

An Arita plate of scalloped form painted in kakiwake style with a Chinese Pheasant and rock motif surrounded by pomegranates in the centre, and trailing foliage to the rim, including Peonies and Plum flowers. The dish dates to the late 18th century circa 1780-1800. The rim decorated with a brown glaze. The reverse undecorated and the interior of the footring displaying faux chattering. This is a small unusual Japanese Porcelain vase. It has is a textured totai like ground with moriage flowers and leaves. The plant appears to be a water lily. The vase stands 3 1/4 inches tall and in 3 inches wide. It is in excellent condition. The vase is signed Bizan Zo.

This tall, unusual stand is decorated with cobalt blue under the glaze and with overglaze enamels in iron-red, green, and gold. It has four large cutouts on the sides, revealing the interior that is glazed white. The cut edges of the open cartouches are dressed with gilt enamel as is also the top rim. The footrim is unglazed, exposing the white porcelain body. It is in very good condition with no repairs or damages, with only minor wear to the enamels...

Antique Japanese satsuma urn with a gorgeous deep blue and gold glaze, with two Komainu (also known as lion dogs) serving as handles, a lid with a third Komainu, growling and with his front paw resting upon a xiù qiú ball. The lid and top portion of the urn are adorned in beautiful golden and white roses, and its front and backside depict beautiful scenery of the ocean behind many brightly clothed characters...

An Arita bowl decorated with a design of Azami, Thistles, a motif emblematic of Spring painted in a refined pencilled style called senbeki both to the interior and exterior. Lovely Japanese antique Imari-ware porcelain bowl, eight sided, beautifully painted in traditional Imari colors with details in gold, scenes of mountain pavilions and baskets of chrysanthemums in alternating fan shaped reserves, Meiji Period. Size: 8 3/4" wide diameter x 3 1/8" high.

Each dish is painted with a similar design in colored overglaze enamels with a phoenix bird in flight over a paulownia spray and leafy garlands in the background. Each dish is molded in the shape of a chrysanthemum flower, and set on a low foot. The footring is unglazed, exposing the fine white porcelain body. A “fuku” mark in underglaze blue is painted on the base of each, and an iron-red cash symbol is drawn on the exterior wall...

Japanese large Imari Porcelain Punch Bowl, 4 1/2" high, 12" diameter-top, early 1920, with typical Imari colors of red, green and orange overglaze enamel on top of the underglaze blue, and highlighted in gold. Very delightful Japanese garden scene just outside the door or window in divided cartouches. There are some scratch marks on the bottom inside the bowl, no cracks, no restoration, no damage.
