A rare and vivid Imari ware porcelain tea pot, made around 1850 in the famous Hichozan Kiln. Hichozan was a trade name used by the group of Arita kilns & makers mainly for export during the late Edo to the Meiji period in the 19th century. Their works are hold in museums and from collectors worldwide.

A Fu lion is hand-painted on the body. The signatures of "Hichozan" and the potters name are written on the bottom.

Most unusually rather than the more typical green enamel brocade band this example has an Aka-e kinrande nindou-mon brocade band. An Arita Export porcelain dish decorated with a design based on a Ming Chinese Kraak plate. A pair of Ho-o birds amongst flowers and bursting pomegranates. Arita, circa 1690 - 1720. A similar dish is illustrated in the Shibata Collection, Kyushu Ceramic Museum, item 2495.

The border pattern shows a striking similarity to that used for V.O.C. orders produced at the Hikeoba and Sarugawa kilns. Circa 1680.

A Japanese porcelain Arita ware dish with blue decoration of peonies and leafs in a scroll pattern. The dish measures 10 3/4" in diameter x 1 1/2" tall, and is from the 17th Century. Condition: The dish has a scalloped edge and is in excellent condition. Free shipping within the USA.

Interesting Arita Imari bowl, late Edo with scalloped rim and panels with reserves of flowers and figural scenes of an elderly teacher (?) surrounded by pupils, the reserves contoured in raised overglaze black. Brocade or diaper patterns in green, red, blue and gilt surrounding a stylized turtle in underglaze blue. The exterior shows three Buddhist symbols repeated three times in underglaze blue, red enamels and gilt. Bull’s eye base and a green-glazed Uzu-Fuku mark...

A Fukagawa porcelain 9 1/2 inch dinner plate. Iris decoration from Chuji Fukagawa's own 19th century design book. Blue underglaze and red, yellow and gold overglaze enamel decoration including random butterflys. Mt. Fuji mark inside the foot ring. Late Meiji or early Taisho. Good condition. This is genuine Japanese Shoki Imari Excavated Chawan (Bowl).
It is dated from early Shoki Imari which dated back to 1630-50 maybe
little earlier. Shoki Imari did not have the process of making porcelain with bisque,
glazed then design painted. Porcelain making process skipped
bisque and glaze making, rather they put right into glazing and painting design done
in same time...

A Fine Large Japanese Imari Bowl, Meiji, 19th Century.

A fine and substantial Arita Imari rinka bowl. Six panels, inside and out, are alternatively decorated with ho-o birds and flowers.

The centre of the bowl depicts the shochikubai, the three friends of winter. A suggestion of breaking waves can also be observed to the left of the screens.

Approximately 24.5 cm diameter. Perfect condition.

A beautifully gold accented imari small dish from old Japan, detailed and profusely decorated with tendrils and flora with a well painted mythical Kylin; the contrast is simply stunning and well defined, condition is excellent and the enamels well preserved, minor glaze imperfection on the backside, but hardly worth mentioning save for accuracy sake, we date this beauty to the Meiji period pre-1900. 19th century miniature Hirado porcelain sculpture of a reclining karako (Chinese boy) leaning on his right elbow.
