A small eggshell-thin dish with a decoration of two birds and two fan-shaped panels - one with a landscape, the other with a poem (?), all in a variety of colours, 19th c. Antique Japanese small ko tansu (personal chest) made of kiri (paulownia) wood. The top portion has a compartment opened by a pair of sliding doors. Below this is a series of drawers of various sizes: three small on the right and two medium sized drawers on the left. The very bottom of the chest has one full-width drawer. Hardware includes warabite shaped drawer pulls.

This is chirimen-silk yuzen-dye and Embroidery yogi kimono in Edo period(1800-1867)Very rare.This yuzen-dye yogi kimono is a museum class.It all is expressed with embroidery and yuzen-dye. It is wonderful beautiful kimono. It does not have a stain. There is a small hole in several places. There is the part which a thread of the embroidery came off. Late 18th to early 19th century boxwood netsuke of a shishi (Buddhist lion) seated with its front paw on a largehollow ball, its mouth open and upper teeth showing. Wonderful depiction of its ferocious face and curly mane and tail, beautiful wear to the surface, really nice feel of age to the piece. Height 1.32 inches.

Unusual porcelain bowl in the shape of a double gourd with two separate compartments. The large section is for washing brushes; the small section may be used as a brush holder.
The outside of the large bowl is decorated in underglaze blue with pavilions in a landscape with mountains and a river. The edge is faceted and painted with cloud-like shapes. The outside of the smaller extension is decorated with stylized flowers. Ribbed knob on top (19-petaled chrysanthemum)...

This is a Very rare in the Edo period Asamai-shibori textile.It's handspun & natural indigo dye cotton. The texture of this thick indigo-dyed cotton has the characteristics of the Edo period. Since Satsuma printed porcelain have got a great reputation at Expo 1867 in Paris, Satsuma brand has been very popular in Europe.The specialization on making body and printing has been going on in early Meiji period, the bodies was made in Satsuma area Kagoshima pref.and was printed in Yokohama or Kyoto and so on.
