The size of Bowl: 5 3/4" Dia x 1 7/8" High. Unusual design Japanese Ko Imari Porcelain Bowl. The bowl has very unusual design of Tea ceremony utensil and stationary type objects done in Sometsuke(blue underglaze), red and gold accented. There are four windows, two designs. Between the window design accented with gold lines. Outside has sort of fuyote type divided decoration. The condition of bowl is excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline...

Charming rustic Japanese antique jizai hook for heating water over a fire, made of keyaki (elm) wood and carved in the shape of a fish, beautiful wood grain with a deep patina from years of use, an iron hook is attached to the tail, a rope or chain would have threaded through a vertical hole from head to mouth, Edo Period (early to mid 19th century). This is wonderful Japanese antique tsutsugaki textile of umakake horse Cover in Edo period. The material is thick indigo dye cotton. As for the design of the rabbit that flies between waves, the design like auspicious. There is slightly a stain. There is no damage. The state is very good. A moulded hexagonal bowl, hakkaku hachi, decorated to the exterior with an iron red ground inset with alternating reserves containing ribbon bound scrolls, makimono, and artemisin leaves, mogusa-ha, two of the Eight Chinese precious objects, Babao, hachitakara, and a band of stylised eight petal flowers, presumably Tessen the clematis flower, with leaves and pine branches...

Large furoshiki made of hand-spun cotton with tsutsugaki design which are auspicious motifs, such as fukura suzume (sparrow), bamboo, pine tree. plum flower and scrolls. Vegetable indigo and natural brown dye. In good condition except for some brown color faded parts and a rip (2cm). The second half of the 19th century. 130cm x 140cm

A rich black glaze covers this Kasama-yaki jar from the late 19th C. It is in the shape of a "natsume," a tea powder caddy used in the tea ceremony. H.21.5cm (8.5") Body Dia.16cm (6.25".) Kasama wares currently do not enjoy the fame of pots from nearby Mashiko. But Kasama, in neighboring Ibaraki Prefecture about 30 minutes away by car, preceeded Mashiko in being a ceramic production center by nearly a century, and had a hand in training the early Mashiko potters...

This is a charming stoneware Japanese bowl censor from 1750. It fits perfectly into the hand carved wooden stand which was probably made for the incense burner around 1900. There are no makers marks on either the bowl on the stand for identification. Covered with a thick matte gray white glaze with iron flecks and decorated solely with 3 button tabs below the rim, the censor is a wonderful early example of Japanese mingei stoneware ceramics.

This early 20th century ceramic beast looks like Shi Shi. It is 8 ¾” high, 3 ¾” wide and 7” long. It depicts a brown and beige color sitting beast with its mouth wide open. The maker’s signature “Seyama” is on the bottom. It is in excellent condition.
