A spherical Sumatran lime box beautifully cast in bronze or brass with patina, decoration showing stylized lotus pod bud. Betel nut chewing accessory, the interior with lime residue, two piercings. Condition: Superb, excarvated with smooth wear, fine dark and tinned patina with green dusty highlights, a beautiful piece.

The rare Gold Buddha is know as Bhumisparsa, the mudra of witness (earth touching). The hand with the palm turned inward and all the fingers extended downward touching the singhasana (pedestal supported by a lion) The gesture of touching the earth or calling the earth to witness commemorating Buddha's victory over temptation by the demon Mara. Age: 14/15th Century. Southeast Asia. Size: L.4.6cm. Condition: No repairs.
