Very rare Raku Kichizaemon IV Ichinyu (1640-1696) black Raku tea bowl.
Comes with an old signed box.

Having become Raku master at the age of 16, Ichinyu was significantly influenced by his father Donyu who died at 58. In general his works are powerful, large in scale but with thin surfaces and bold incisions made with spatula.

In later years he appeared to revert to the style of Chojiro, making compact tea bowls with smaller dimensions and few spatula marks...

Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Bowl - Deer

This blue & white porcelain bowl was made during the latter part of the Ming Dynasty (!368 - 1644). The underglaze blue decoration around the outer wall features a deer walking in a landscape. The inside of the bowl is decorated with a blossoming flower. The deer represents longevity as it is the only animal able to find the sacred fungus of long life and immortality.

Size is c. 9 x 9,5 m. - 3,5 x 3,7 inches.

A monochrome porcelain Vietnamese bowl from the 14th-16th Century. The clear ivory glaze has an incised design of a flower with 2 lines above it. A nice piece of Ming dynasty blue and white bowl of a pair of Foo lion dog chasing after the rattan ball with ribbons. In the center of the bowl, it has a symbol of a swastika in the form of clouds. It stand on a short foot rim with a recess base and then everted upwards. This is a nice piece not to be missed as such good quality bowl are hard to come by
