Beautifully made out of wood with dense texture allowing for very fine teeth, excellent lacquering, wonderful work in Japanese taste. Length 3.27 inches.

Pair small Japanese blue and white porcelain dishes. Hawthorne style decoration of prunus branches in bloom. Verso with three prunus branches. Blue underglaze mark centered within the foot rim. Fair to decent condition with a few frit like flea bites to the glaze along the rims. No cracks and no hairlines. Diameter each about 7 1/8 inches (18.1 cm)
Late Meiji period (1890s 1912) Japanese buffalo horn kushi (hair comb) with lacquer decoration of a butterfly by a blooming peony, design continuing on both sides. Signed KOICHI on the front. Chinese 19th Century Glazed Stoneware Shipwreck Jar
Many years ago we bought a small group of jars of this type. We were told they dated to the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279) and had been in storage, having several years earlier been recovered from a shipwreck off Thailand. To the base of each jar is written an inventory number (we were told around 200 of these jars were excavated but how accurate this is, we do not know)...
Chinese Silver Pouch shape Pendant, Ca. 1920, 1 3/8" wide, 1" high, 1/2" deep, etched low relief of Chinese Character on one side, flower pedal on the other side, all in one piece, the condition is good.
A Japanese woodblock print of a kneeling male figure drying a shō, a traditional musical instrument of the reed family, a form of mouth organ, over a brazier. The print is attributed to Kitao Masanobu, 1761~1816 and probably dates to the late 18th century.
A good impression with some gauffrage on the kimono collar. The mount is inscribed in pencil “Mafsanobu”.
