Statue of a Taoist deity --- maybe a judge in Hell --- in mandarin attire, sitting on a throne, his hands in praying posture. Lacquered and gilt wood. China, Qing dynasty, 18th century. Height: 20.2 cm. Old woodworm attacks (no more danger) lacquering and gilding partly flaked, otherwise very good condition.

A fine portrait-image of Tsongkapa (1357–1419), the founder of the Gelugpa School of Tibetan Buddhism. Brownish bronze alloy with a high content of copper. Tibet, 17th century. H 14 cm. Fully sealed with original closing. Condition: Some rubbing to gold, and sword on the right shoulder missing.

A woodblock print on washi with 29 ways of wearing tenugui which is the Japanese hand towel made of cotton. It has been using as hand towel as well as hat or scarf. In good condition except for a break in one of the corners. Printed by "Isetatsu which was founded in 1864, very late Edo period in kanda in Tokyo. This is yosegire Patchwork silk katazome kimono textile in Edo period(1603-1867). All are originals from the Edo period. There are four kinds of itajime-katazome, and seven kinds of katazome is included. The part of the sleeve is yuzen-dye that is drawn by the hand and dyed. The lower side is stripes of the silk in Edo period.The lining is red silk and has discoloration. There are no damage on the surface...

This is japanese antique kihada nature colour katazome sodenashi hanjyuban in Edo period(1603-1867). Katazome of kihada ground is very rare. Textile seems to be hand spun and woven and and has soft touch . The collar is yuzen and shibori of silk. There is neither stain nor damage. This is a Japanese antique indigo stencil dyed thick cotton kimono from the Meiji period (1868-1912) with a rare weave. It is a very beautiful indigo stencil dyeing. There is a thin stain. Pair of parakeets resting on a rock. White hard porcelain, yellow enameled spouts and legs, black enamel details. The body of the birds is covered with a transparent glaze, however the unglazed rock which is covered with a layer of brown lacquer. I don't know of any other other same parakeet listed so it is difficult to date them with certainty.Probably Chinese work from the Qing period. Good condition, lacquer worn in places...

This is a rare Japanese antique natural indigo dye hand-spun thick hemp and cotton katazome fabric. It is a traditional Japanese pattern dyed with a beautiful tree pattern.The horizontal thread is hemp and the vertical thread is cotton. Katazome of antique linen is rare.
